4. I think it would be very good in a different way but you might be missing the point here  :slap: lol
5. And a corking song too  Can't beat a bit of David Byrne

7. Bugger sorry to hear that buddy, hope you'll still make the meets though (when we have some)? :D I loved my mr2 gti mk2, awesome car
8. The profile on your rear rubber looks a little big for those rear arches don't you think mate? :D
9. When i had my led bulb replacements they were excellent but had to replace the flasher relay with a third party one. It wasn't a straight fit but all i had to do was pull the third connector out of the plastic plug, flip the relay the other way round and then connect the third leg in situe. Only thing i never got chance to do was wire up a buzzer to replace the clicking that you didn't get with the electric relay.
10. Best of luck to both of you buddy but i'm sure she'll be fine. If it's any relief my dad had an operation on his spine and skull a few years ago and although there were many risks he came round a new man the next day from it and started a new life afterwards :) Hope everything goes well mate Nick
11. That's brilliant news buddy, well done :D
12. Happy Birthday buddy :duffer:
13. Cheers buddy :D Always nice to have some encouragement :) Next update should be when i get the block back from the engineering shop from its boring, honing, decking and dipping :D
14. Ah now i knew you'd say that , the edelbrock carb is a hybrid and suprisingly economical for what it is. Basically it has a vacuum secondary crossed with a mechanical secondary which gives a smooth transition of the vacuum and also the welly of a mechanical. I did my research on this :D Plus it only cost me £150 :hyper: I can't find the article but it explained it a bit better: "The mechanical secondary air velocity valve sense air flow according to demand and automatically regulates a smooth transistion from part throttle to wide open throttle." Off secondary the economy is supposed to be not that far off the original carbs. I was planning on hydraulic lifters with a mild cam but because of the springs it's either going to cost me money to convert them back or i pay more to get the solid lifter setup, hey ho. I also have two intakes to pick from that should give me some choice
15. hahaha love that numberplate
16. Well the other week the two heads arrived from the states along with a stupid bill for £250 import duty and the shipping was miscalculated so i ended up picking up the £120 excess on that too but all in all got the heads and roller rockers for £950 all in which is still a saving. Now the annoying part, the springs have been uprated to high lift crower ones, the head's been machined and they've been fitted already, only problem is the roller rockers he's sent aren't for the studs on the head. They're 3/8" instead of 7/16" (smaller diameter holes) Now if i were a skinflint i'd just change the bolts but as there's a good chance at high revs that these could bend and wreck the engine so against what i was originally intending on i'm going for solid roller cam and lifters with uprated pushrods which will give it a bit more a buzzy top end. Match that with the carb which arrived in the post today with a slightly different take on mechanical secondaries and the engine isn't going to be quite what i was intending but hey ho the more power the better and that free-er higher revving delivery should be quite good fun as opposed to the hardcore grunty bottom end i was planning. Unfortunately the problem i've got now is after paying my tax bill, the import duty etc and now i have to find 700 quid to refill my gas cylinder at the back of the house so all in all i'm broke again and just as i was about to get the engine down to the engineering shop things have cropped up :( Ah well another couple of months and i might be back on track... i hope!
17. It was a top edition of it, lily was great just a pity its all finished this series :(
18. Great news buddy, well done and thanks kim for all your hard work :D

20. That's awesome :D I always wanted the clarkson power SD1 V8 from his first video but it was left to rot in a field :( http://www.v8engines.com/projects-033-clarkson.htm
