  1. Oh you lucky sod, that is stunning  :D Congratulations buddy! :D
  2. I'll take your judgement on this one vinz, it'd be good to see you buddy :D
  3. Blimey, I didn't realise you still had it buddy! I bet you can't wait, still one of the noisest zeds on the road as far as i remember :D lol
  4. Thanks Topless. Pete that's perfect, that's exactly what I was looking for and does away with the catch can too which is a bonus, the less in the engine bay the better tbh.
  5. I looked at RB26 but i've owned both NA and TT and I prefer the NA for power delivery so a big muscly V8 was the way forward to me. 450bhp without the lag and monstorous amounts of torque on tap without having to drop a cog. Hoping for about the 470ft/lb of torque from 2500rpm and 370 from tickover
  6. Sorry to say the White Post is probably the most northern of the lot from shropshire! lol I live in Lutterworth so it's a good 100+ mile round trip for me :( Usually it's about the 12 o clock mark but we'll be there till about 4 usually? Next one we could go for something a little more birmingham orientated?
  7. Cheers buddy, i'll have a look against the plenum and work out what everything should connect to.
  8. It's a 1978 Chevy Camaro cast iron block, bored 40 thou and stroked to 6.3 litres :D My thoughts are the zed always suits the sound of a V8 but in my eyes old american muscle should be run on a carburetor not fuel injection. The biggest decider is just how many people stock parts for Jap V8s? Not that many, the stocklist for chevy engines and the years people have been working on these engine fills me with ease that there will be at least someone who knows what they're doing with it. The simplicity of the engines gives big power too and it's easy to tweak. I'm fed up with failing sensors here there and every where. Just tweak the carb and away you go :D Plus to me it's the best of both worlds, I can go to jap meets and americana meets and classic meets so it wins in every respect :D ACE Cafe, here i come! :hyper:
  9. That looks amazing, another reason to respray my V8 black :D lol
  10. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=121578 ;)
  11. Dammit i wanted purple
  12. You'll find when you've sorted out the niggly faults they rarely go wrong, my TT was a nightmare with a mixture of the suspension was knackered when i bought it but not told followed up with the mechanic fitting new suspension then not bothering to set it up! Finally got 3D alignment done on it after replacing pretty much everything on it, that was the last fault i had with it and it was like a brand new car afterwards. I really wish i hadn't have got rid of it but i've had alot of fun with the current zed. The NA still makes a nicer noise, feels faster and turns more heads :) And the even newer one when it's finished this year will turn even more heads and make an even better sound :D hehe
  13. As with most zed's loads of people have reason's why they can't user their car (either work in progress or broken lol) so I wouldn't worry too much although this is the first meet i've ever attended without a zed  In fact it's the longest i've been without my zed as a daily drive for 4 years now
  14. sweet baby jesus!!!!
  15. I wouldn't worry mate my plate is being reallocated on the silver zed with no plenum on it and the V8 has no engine it it so i'll be in a 1.6 escort cabriolet (:hurl:) :(
  16. Before everybody moans at me i have had a look on the search but the only guide's i've found are on the TT engine. I've removed my polished plenum to sell and got a stock one to replace it and i've never been too happy with the plenum bypass done on the car with the catch can as there was a huge vacuum on the back of the plenum causing a pipe to fold and the idle fluctuated all the time by itself along with alot of oil vapour being drawn into the intake and being burnt off in the cylinders. When i took the plenum off the other week the intake ports were all black and slimy :( Could anybody draw me up a quick diagram of the best way to bypass the plenum and run the oil vapours into an oil catch can please? Or even a link to someone who's done it before?
  17. That's what i thought, i'd heard the copies don't actually work as well. Ah well i'll just have to buy another second hand one in then
  18. Has anybody tried these? They're obviously not oem but for the price they're about the same price as a second hand AFM. I only ask as i have to replace mine to get the car back on the road. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIR-FLOW-MASS-METER-NISSAN-300ZX-SKYLINE-200SX_W0QQitemZ270328272298QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item270328272298&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1700|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318
  19. How about one of these? Thinking of one myself to clean up the exterior of the car http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110323467903
  20. Where's Vinz, come on you old bugger get your name down! :slap:
  21. Right i've added a poll, everyone have a think, 7 days till it closes, most votes is the winner and i'll give em a ring and make sure it's okay :D Any suggestions feel free to add them here
  22. Bugger, not good news! Hope you manage to sort it out buddy! pmsl  could cost a fair bit to get there buddy so i understand
  23. 6800 miles and as munny says, crease free leather. That's amazing!
