  1. Hey Blackpool z32, haven't been on this forum for a few years and decided to pop on and found this thread. I used to own the 300zx you have pictured years ago and had it for 5 years and to date it has been the best car I have ever owned, always wondered what happened to it and if it was still around as it was a very clean car when I had it and when I found these pics of it I was glad that it's still out there... And in superb condition!!! That was 10 years ago when I bought it Anyway just thought I would post to say car looks amazing and really like the work that has been done to it:thumbup1:
  2. The seat and gear stick were in good condition compared to the steering wheel, when i bought the car the previous owner had caused the wear on the wheel,it was peeling slightly and got worse when the car sat in strong sunlight and got warm inside? Totally agree with it possibly being an admin error, there is a good chance the trader won't know nothing about it,its probably been done before the trader got it,i have reported to ebay so that they can find out if it is a typing error and if the mileage is 78000 then they can alert the trader that it is incorrect.I've heard that its not illegal to clock a car etc but the new owner should be notified Ron
  3. What was the mileage when you had it? That GTO was a quick car,it was twin turbo, kinda made me wish i had got a twin turbo 300zx as the speed difference was amazing.:)
  4. The car def had MPH clocks when i had it,then again as stated earlier it could have had a speedo/guage change?
  5. yeah the cluster bulbs were updated by my self to blue ones.I think a member, groover iirc was converting them so i sent them away to be done, looked nice in blue.
  6. It says in the ad that all previous mots are present from import and the full history is present,i was thinking of phoning the seller and asking for the mot test number from the top left hand corner of the certificate and entering that into VOSA's website. There you can check your cars mot history free of charge and it goes back a few years. I remeber MOTing it on 2009 and it had 95000 at the time of the MOT so it should still be the same on the site....worth a try
  7. Sent a report to ebay, will call autotrader to report it too but i agree with yourself on autotrader.
  8. Cheers, yeah will be reporting it to ebay as well as autotrader as i've just found it there as well
  9. Yeah sold it for 1850 at the time
  10. Hi folks, haven't posted on here for some time due to selling my Zed in mid 2009 but like visiting frequently as the banter is always fresh. Anyway was browsing the internet to see what 300zx's were for sale these days when i came across my old car on ebay.....CLOCKED. I sold it in the summer 2009 on a private sale with 97000 miles and couldn't believe it when i saw it for sale with 78000 miles! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/94-L-NISSAN-300-ZX-3-0-V6-SERIES-3-MANUAL-Coupe-BLACK-/180599524003?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a0c920aa3 Just thought i would post it on this forum as i was a member here with that car and just incase any member was to but it or think of buying it its true mileage will probably be over the 100,000 mile mark by now. Sad to think some people do this to cars like 300zx's,espcially when it throws the likes of timing belt schedules right out the window. Cheers Ronnie
  11. Hopefully they haven't scrapped it?I checked on the dvla website and i see that its sorn isn't due till April 2010 which makes me think it was sorn'd on April 2009 but i'm not sure how long a sorn lasts on a car?? http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/ Click on the link and select Vehicle Enquiry then enter the reg mark along with the Manufacturer and it will give the details of the car. Also handy to see if your old car is still on the road
  12. cheers guys i will look into it as it would be a shame to let a car go for something that may be easily repaired, may even look into the replacement roofs too. Cheers Ian for letting me know about other areas of the vert roof,i'm trying to find out as much about this model as i can before buying as i've had 4 years trouble free motoring with my current Z and i'm hoping i have the same when i finally get one of these Ron
  13. Hi guys,i have been looking for a 300zx convertible 94 onwards for some time now and found a nice M reg for sale but when i contacted the seller to ask the condition of the car in particular the roof, before viewing,he said there was a small crack in one of the plastic quarter windows and was wondering if any vert owners here have had that problem and if the can be replaced? Cheers Ron
  14. i think i can see two stock guages on the dash, the oil pressure guage just shows in the video under the rev counter But i agree......what was that all about
  15. I was thinking the same as i noticed the twin turbo style front?? I just noticed the car for sale today and thinking about going to see it when the other pics i requested are emailed, its not far from me,about 40 miles.I think i'll need to arrange a viewing to see how clean of an example it really is and to appreciate it as i've never seen one before in the flesh
  16. yeah me too.i also took it to kwik fit as they were advertising it for £44,all they said to me is that there was no pressure in it and said the recharge should sort it out but never mentioned checking it for leaks,he just said there might be one, so i'm guessing mine prob has a leak somewhere too and their equipment never detected it either
  17. cheers snowygt
  18. Cheers guys for the replies WillieO i am in Kilmarnock,i think my car runs on the R134a,iirc they changed it on the later Zeds and there is a label on the engine bay panel stating R134a...all in japanese though lol. I remember when i got the car i could hear the compressor clicking on and off,no when i switch on the air con the compressor clicks and runs all the time without clicking off.I'll take a note of that number and when i get back from holiday try and arrange something.
  19. Hi guys My car has been blowing slightly warm air for about a year so i decided yesterday to get the air con recharged> All was fine when i got it back as it was blowing ice cold air but when i tried it today and put the temp to 10 and pressed auto its back to warmish air again? I was told there was no pressure reading on the air con specialists machine when he done it and he said that the could possibly be a leak and it might only last a few days or weeks before it goes warm? Has anyone else had a problem like this and if it is leaking is it an expensive repair the air con is needed these days with the warm weather we get lol
  20. yeah the leather looks in very good condition for mileage
  21. Just having a wee look through autotrader as i quite fancy a convertible Zed,when i came across this - http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/NISSAN+300+ZX/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-4294966218-4294967243/advert.action?R=200822311013296&distance=297&postcode=ka15hn&channel=CARS&make=NISSAN&model=300+ZX&min_pr=&max_pr=&max_mileage= Twinturbo,Manual and i notice that it also has electric seats and digital climate control which i thought Nissan scrapped on the later cars?
  22. Pics look great, done the same myself when the sun was out.Excellent weather for driving the Z:)
  23. Hi guys, thought i would service my engine today on the Z and after changing everything, plugs, oil, filters etc i only had the the air filters to do and came across a problem, after unclipping the 4 clips i noticed that the remaining screws that need taken out were severly rusted and stuck in,further more the screw heads were badly worn to a point where the screw driver wont remove them:headvswal Has anybody here had the same or similar problem and is there any easy way to remove the air box now as i think i will need a new one when i get this one out Thanks
  24. Welcome to the club, hope to see some pics up soon I got mine from Kidderminster 3 years ago and like other mebers said on this thread...its an amazing drive on long journeys Ron
  25. Welcome to the club mate,as said above don't buy the first one you see and as big mincey said be prepared to travel to get a good one,i've had my import now for nearly 3 years and touch wood haven't had a problem with it,i looked at few up here but i always found problems on one ,ended up going down to Kidderminster and got my 94 J-spec,mines is manual and wasn't sure about auto until i drove my mates Twin turbo auto 2 months ago and WHAT A CAR!! So personally i would have a Zed in manual or auto now....Amazing cars
