  6. Ok Hi Guys new to forum and have fairly limited mechanical knowledge but willing to take a good stab at it. I didn't get to use my car use the car all this year due to ill health been ill for many years so never not ever done much practical mechanics. put her for mot and am told sills need done. I bought the car 3 years ago now and knew when I bought it there would come the point that it would start to need some serious money spending and work done I now believe that time has arrived the car has had lots of owners since import and not been maintained properly needs love and money. I have decided to put the car off the road for as long as it takes as I would like to replace as much as possible and be left with an as good as new car when finished. My friend recently bought a place with a decent garage and wont be using it so its mine I will be moving the car there hopefully within the next 2,3 weeks and would like to start work after then, I also have very little tools but can borrow some and am willing to buy as I go. I have a plan in my head and I was going to start by removing everything from back end car wishbones control arms shocks etc. I have already bought some bits for car that I know she needs. any help advice be great I,m going in blind ish :), These questions may seem a bit early but I want to try sort out some tools befor I move car so that once I get her in the garage can start if its not too cold lol. questions. 1. first off where are the safe best place to position axel stands to lift whole car off ground?.. also is the car ok just sitting on stands for a long period of time or would I be best lifting one end at a time?.. 2. what are essential tools for removal of wishbones etc from back of car?.. or just essential tools that would be good for me to start off with to do many tasks?.. and that wont break the bank.. 3.what would be best for re painting wishbones suspension arms etc I was going to go for hammerite and then clear laquer over but would this be hard wearing enough or am I best going for powder coating, and would I be better buying a kit and compressor or getting somewhere to do it. 4. What are essential items to replace and what should I be paying close attention to checking condition of etc?..
  7. Well mine isn't a turbo and I'm not planning any heavy tunning but brakes are pretty important lol cheers guys

  10. Hi would just like to thank everyone for all there help, as veilside said pipe in sections yes did realise this and I actually have part number 49720 only my one had a hard pipe welded on to other end so no use me taking my old one off as nothing to put it on. I have been to a few hydraulic places today and was pretty disappointing one guy said no chance and the other one said he didn't have the equipment to make new hose/pipe, will make list places and hunt next week.
  11. let me know if this works pic of pipe
  12. I do have a few pics but it wont let me put pics in my posts for some reason
  13. Cheers mate thanks for the offer But the pipe is already off I put the car in for mot didn't think the leak was that bad thought was just a join that needed tightened but looks like needs a fair bit work and until just recently didn't have a garage to store car its been under a cover a decent one though but once get it back can be dry stored over winter :) I didn't think there was anyone else really up near here with 300 not really seen many about.
  14. nope lol I have searched the web and carnt find nothing like it :( I think im unlucky as had a few issues getting parts for my particular car befor parts that are meant to fit don't if I knew the part numbers I be able get as Amayama in japan provide most parts for car ive looked at that one and its meant to be the pipe shaded red but when I go on to anywhere to order comes up with pipes that look nothing like mine :(
  15. its neither of those two lol the bottom one is the one I got from the states I think what z32bolt said is prob best idea I had thought about having it made looks like that might be only option.
  16. its not quite like that but its the closest to it iv seen cheers :) I think the car has now got to the point where I need to either bin it or be prepared to spend some serious cash I think it needs sills for mot too.
  17. call me thick but been starin this screen most of day tring to find stuff out how do I access the traders section lol
  18. Car 1992 Fairlady z 3.0 non turbo auto vin number GZ32-016496 Hi I need help Car has recently developed a massive power steering leak the hose has been removed and I,m stuck trying to find a replacement there does not seem to be a part number on it and I have already had one disappointment having wrong hose sent out from states, so I now want to try make sure I get right one I will do my best to describe as I carnt post a pic. The pipe goes from the pump to the rack and looks to be in 3 sections with 2 different end bits lying the pipe flat on floor the end that attaches to pump bends to right and is about 4inch in length then meets on to main pipe which is straight but flexible running about 27 in length befor it comes to other end bit which bends right back on itself and includes the switch pressure on it and does a kind of s befor end connector of pipe. I have searched online everywhere I can think of and carn't seem to find a hose that looks the same and suggestions be greatly appreciated.
