Well hopefully if I can but I don't think funds will permit it's £150 to pick up and then £150 to drop back off again on top of a respray costs and all the rubbers etc , il probably get full car done and lift the engine at a later date

Hey guys so took my zed to Jim a few weeks ago to have some reconditioned turbos fitted, upon lifting the engine Jim found a few causes for concern, shoddy rebuild work from the previous owner. So we have decided to go ahead and fully rebuild the engine. I'll be using this thread to post progress pictures and info... I intend to go and see Noel after I've settled the engine in and then fingers crossed the car will be going in for a full respray , all new mouldings,trim etc ... Watch this space !

Fixed guys! Lad who had it previously had fitted coilpack connectors the wrong way around , there was a bit of oxidisation on one of the fuel injector connectors so I have gave them all a clean , pulled plugs and gave a clean etc , bit of oily smoke on startup but car had probably been sat a long time as it's now gone and hasn't returned touch wood ! Great stuff and a good day !

Well tomomontana I did just that andddddd here is the outcome Lmao so now she owns a 89' twin turbo manual with 64k on the clock and the little salt in the wound it's cleaner than mine hahaha

Also I didn't have the throttle wide open when doing the test is that a problem ?

I know the first 2 look low in comparison but they are holding compression and the test was done cold too , the guy who had it before me said he has checked injectors but I will double check can a faulty ptu cause the first 2 to drop ?

Okay guys I've got a twin turbo manual that just came to me today , I bought it knowing the first 2 are missing , I've pulled coilpack and plugs and checked both to be working fine , I've ran the engine and unplugged the 2 suspect and no change. I've done a compression test bearing in mind that this is cold I didn't drop no oil down the cylinders 1: 116 2:116 3:125 4:150 5:150 6:120. There's fuel on the plugs when I pulled them so fuel is being dumped in ... Strange

One week passes by and I'm getting an 1989 twin turbo manual 2+2 delivered tomorrow! Oops! The other half doesn't know yet any suggestions on how to explain how another one turned up on the drive!??
