  4. Ok... Symptoms.... Nast crunching noise when the car is cold going over bumps etc. Noise comes from the front end on the drivers side. Doesn't appear to be the gasket on top of the shock. Now developed a vibration when driving around 60 (quite sure it's not wheel balancing) Have to apply torque to the steering wheel when going in a straight line down the motorway, sometimes right sometimes left (rather like driving in a cross wind, its a bit 'floaty' I can feel some movement in the wheel from side to side but not top to bottom. Any ideas what i can look for first ???

But thank goodness you did make contact now and you have the time to see him and tell him your feelings and frustrations. It's unbelievably unfair and i really feel for you James

  17. Did mine sat, you'll need a new filter, 3.5 litres oil (i used castrol edge 10-60), two axle stands and a jack and a 14mm socket / spanner. I drove the car around and got it up to working temp, took the filler cap off, got it up on axle stands quickly, took out the 14mm nut on the bottom of the sump (BUCKET IN PLACE!!) and it poored out, then remove the old filter (BUCKET IN PLACE!!). rub some new oil on the seal of the new filter, screw it in, clean and replace drain bolt, off the stands and fill it up!! Personally i put some oil in the filter before replaceing. Turned it over briefly and then let it run for a short period on idle. Checked oil levels again and took it for a gentle stroll. etc
  18. That really wouldn't taste nice!
