during the winter i turned into my road at a very low speed. unfortunately i was going down hill and there was snow on the road (live in a cul de sac: never gets gritted). the weight of the car took it straight into the curb with a massive bang right on the left :slap: rear wheel. i thought "oh **** thats going to be expensive!!" i was so angry with myself for being so stupid!! when i saw the damage i was gutted. a split about 1 1/2 inches had come off the wheel. cost me £250 for a new one but thank god there was no suspension damage. took me a matter of weeks before i curbed the brand new wheel. made me feel sick. :hurl: even worse i had to have the standard wheels on for 2 months!!

thats altered my perspective a little!

spoke to zed garage today about exactly the same problem (4th and sometimes 5th on mine). i was told £1200 for a refurb (lots of labour). was also told to try mt90 and let it bed in for a few thousand miles but if that didn't work to look for a replacement 'box off a breaker.... hth alex

i'm with elephant 10 month bonus accelerator costing £545 this year. 24 yrs old living in cambridge, no accidents, no points, 2 yrs ncb but it is an n/a. i've done about 10k this year and its been fine. trouble is i have to be with elephant for 6 yrs to get 5yrs ncb with any other company. hth alex.

thanks for all the comments lads. doesn't seem like it will be as easy as i hoped :( paul c thanks for the links. gave me some idea of the cost which i think will be more than i wanted to spend. if i got a tt engine from a breaker would it have everything i needed attached or would i need extra parts like intercoolers? also i think the front bumpers are different. is this true?

anybody know how much it would cost to turbocharge my n/a. i did a search but couldn't find anything. would it be a good idea? is there someone on here who could do it? all comments are be much appreciated. cheers alex.
