hi guys, i'm getting a loud crunching noise when i change gear from 3rd to 4th and 5th to 4th. it doesn't really matter what kind or rpm but it doesn't seem to happen at low speed. i'm also getting some vibration through the clutch pedal in 3rd 4th and 5th. :confused: anyone got any ideas? if it is the gearbox, how much will a new/reconditioned one cost me? cheers alex.

i've done nearly 4 years in a techie trade with the raf and i have to say i've loved it. however the b.s and waiting around is not what i want to do now so i'm getting out to go to uni. i wouldn't ever tell someone not to go in but deffo make sure its what you want to do before you go. Alex.

Thanks for the tips lads. Just fitted 2 new airfilters and it seems to have reduced the idle a bit but its still too high. Alex

Hi all, my car seems to idle about 2000rpm when cold. it also takes a long time to drop down to 1000rpm when warm and never goes below. is this normal? anybody got any ideas? its a 1990 n/a manual. alex.
