    Great photos of the car......
  2. I'm sure a hard core bottom end, some reworked heads + mad cams, a super charger, some new management and a dribble of NOS would get you close to 400.
  3. ....and feck me, it's horrific. LOL, at one point last night, I thought I was going to die...well, at least I think it's flu. Started off as a cold and last night developed into vomiting, aches/incapacity to move, severe hot/cold sweats. Chucking up when you have a throat that's as raw as the surface of Venus is really quite painful, not to mention the migraine and the high pitched tinitus. I'm up and about now, but my head still feels like it's going to explode. Generally I've been really lucky with my health. Other than being blessed with mild asthama as a child, all I've ever had throughout my life are colds and the odd chest infection. I did have an ear infection when I lived down in Southampton and was bed-ridden for nearly a week. That was worse than what I have now actually as that was slap bang in the middle of a very warm summer. Ear infections mess up your balance, so every time I wanted to move, I'd throw up. I also lost the hearing in one ear and about 50% in the other. Was very scarey. Made a full recovery from that.
  4. What type of MK1 website is it? I know a couple of Dub-bods who might be able to help.
  5. You may as well google it... http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=mk1+Golf&meta=
  6. Nice one Dave!! Your car is crying out for TT rears.....especially OEM chrome ones. Standard JDM USDM/N/A rear wheels are sooooooooooo skinny. Good move mate and can't wait to see them on the car.
  7. Working from home today. Can't even be arsed to do that. Got a horrendous cold.
  8. Cheers Dave. So just find the black/red and white/red wires and those are the speaker wires? :)
  9. I don't actually have a BOSE H/U I have a JVC one. The speaker works, but just crackles badly under load. I guess theres far too much power going to it compared to the original H/U. With that in mind, it seems that all I need to do is to just find the speaker wires and remove the amp wires?
  10. Poor bugger. Sometimes there are floods of replies on what you'd think would be quite advanced subjects, yet simplier stuff like this...ie, replacing standard speakers...which loads of people have done...gets no response! LOL
  11. C'mon, someone on here must know. I can't believe everyone's riding round with their original crappy BOSE speaker system still in situ.
  12. Nice once Vinz! Looking forward to it.....weather starts to get a bit better by Easter too. :)
  13. He asked how everyone's day has been. So maybe address the thread starter with that statement.
  14. Boring as ever. Glad it's nearly all over. Nice to see that family for a bit. But I see them all the time anyway.
  15. Welcome to the smooth ass club? Dude, Mike was a member of that for 2 years....he's even sold the car now!
  16. Was it worth you replying with that?
  17. When I had the door cards off last, I noticed that one speaker (near side) was an after market speaker in a speaker adaptor and the other side still had the large plastic BOSE casing with little speaker and multi-pin connector. I've just ordered new speaker adaptors to upgrade to 6.5", replacing the nearside is fine as simply, there are two wires plugged into the current speaker that's there, but what wires do I need to split from the BOSE item on the drivers side? I'd have to crimp spade clips onto 2 of the existing wires, but unsure if just doing this will be fine...what colour wires do I need? Also, if I'm disabling that speaker which I guess has the little amp in it, do I need to do any rewiring or is it simply a case of unplugging the connector, splitting 2 wires from it and crimping spade clips to the wires? Cheers in advance.
