  1. They are nice wheels....but WHAT THE FECK>>>WHERE ARE THE SPEEDLINES????!!!!
  2. Bugger, I was down in Portsmouth yesterday.
  3. I'd look at buying something decent. 51 plate Rover 25...so you have £2,000 roughly to spend then? If you're doing that sort of mileage a week, then have a look at getting something like an Audi A4 TDi. Reliable, nippy, comfy and nice looking. Something that the aged old Rover 25 is not.
  4. Take the handle off, it's only held in with 2 nuts. Then take a photo of the barrel end.
  5. Either metal or plastic. Dependant upon year. Earlier ones had plastic. I replaced mine for one that Duffer gave me and it was metal. Much more robust. It doesn't sheer off, it splits in half and falls off the end of barrel. Shouldn't need a new barrel. There should be a little half washer clip on the back. Pull that off and the assembly, which is keyed, sits on the end of it.
  6. Difficult to tell from those photos, but it looks like you've lost a rod and the clip from the back of the barrel has gone.
  7. Yes, you can re-use them.
  8. Square steering wheels, cool. ;)
  9. That's because it's broken off from the back of the barrel and is hanging down inside the door!!!! Like I've been saying!! ;)
  10. It's because he's put the linkage in the wrong way round. If you look at the link rod, there are two or 3 ways in which it can sit when reconnecting. IE, the bit that's actually attached to the actuator not the door handle. If you don't fit this the right way round, the rod will sit prude and when refitting the door handle will all jam up. It's a bit difficult to explain really. Shame he lives 150 miles away as I'd be straight round there to give him a helping hand.
  11. Just fixed my lock. There's a clip on the lock barrel that breaks off. If you want to temporarily lock your car manually, just get in, lock the driver's side from the inside then pax side from the outside. It's a reasonabily easy thing to replace. Door card off, two bolts holding the handle in place, pull handle towards you and flip round at and angle and disconnect the two rods, remove. Look on the back and see the little mechanism that's circliped to the back of it. Just a simple job of replacing that. Early ones came made of a crappy cigarette stain coloured plastic surround, whereas newer ones were made of metal. Yours has just cracked and broken off.
  12. Oh dear. Kirbz Pentroof one looks good, because of the rest of the agressive look...not something I'd go for though and certainly not on yours.
  13. That was the wrong word, not the wrong spelling. ;)
  14. Christ, that's a bit of a jump up the scale. lol have fun with it. :)
  15. Utter junk. Shopping lists up the doors are one of the single saddest things to do to a car. But...it's up to you if you want to do that kind of thing.;)
  16. Some angles it looks great, but it looks wrong from a side-on profile. Well, the rear bumper does. It looks like someone's taken an axe to the rear end and reduced the car's length by half a foot.
  17. Will I was intending on booking mine a month in advance. Will give their call centre a ring (as it's not in Mumbai anymore...lol) and will might be able to get a lower fare there.
  18. I'm just flying there. Not staying in Chicago. Going to see a friend.
  19. Detailing section would be good. Although for detailed in-depth knowledge, then http://www.detailingworld.co.uk is a bible and indispensable for those that like their cars to look their absolute best. You need to register to be able to view all the forums, only a handful are viewable to guests.
  20. ....come to think of it, I could probably leave my car at my Autie's place at Ealing. Only a 15 minute cab ride to LHR. I usually fly from Gatwick, last time I flew from LHR was about 4 years ago on a flight to Munich.
  21. Cheers....although it would cost me about £20 return in the dirty diesel and I'm sure parking would be about £40 for 5 days?
