  1. My winter project work is as follows.... New A'PEXI filter New O2 sensors New Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECU) New chip (AndyP or John Dixon) New Boost controller Replacement brake booster New HICAS arms AIV Delete Gloss black roof bars New scuttle panel Yeah, be interesting to see what you'll want wheel-wise. :)
  2. That's great news Alan! Although very different, my father went over to teach English as a foreign language to Portuguese students in Porto in his early 20s after he'd graduated from University with a number of language degrees. He thoroughly enjoyed it and was over there during the Portuguese revolution in 1975 and had it not have been for that, he would have been a very very wealthy man now having written a text-book that was due to go into circulation throughout all Portuguese schools. Literally, overnight (revolution), this changed and the books became totally unsuitable and completely obsolete. Anyway, China is a place I've wanted to go for some time now. Have been looking at doing the Trans-Siberia railway across Russia and to China for my 30s. We'll see though.
  3. Yup. Can't stand the cold. I worked a lot of last winter on it, namely the interior and just really can't be arsed to do anything out in the cold at the moment. I'm not driving it right now, so it doesn't really make a difference.
  4. I went out to the garage just now to start taking some bits off the front, but came back indoors to eat a bar of chocolate as it was too cold. I HATE THE WINTER!
  5. Not doing anything. Not even driving it at the moment. Just amassing parts for a boost upgrade. Back to the bodyshop in the new year for roof bars to be painted black.
  6. Good man. Glad to see someone doing that than doing this.
  7. That's awful! He should have taken off his boxing gloves before writing that. I've seen worse on here though! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1161425&postcount=1
  8. Check your injector connectors too.
  9. That's quite neat. Unfortunately I have a 2DIN headunit. One thing I'd look at manufacturing if I had the capability is a DIN sized boost controller/AFM Management/LCD readout computer. Most cars that people put these electronics in are Japanese. Most Japanese cars come with twin DIN or 2DIN slots for Audio. It would be idea to make a single DIN system that's the same size as a conventional single din headunit that could control all these functions instead of having a multitude of stuff all over the place. If I could get the investment, I'd love to look at doing some R&D/Prototyping for something like that.
  10. This is what I want to do. I want to take the cover off (this is an HKS EVC 4), cut along the red dotted line. Refit what's left (the small section), cut a hole in the dash bezel that's smaller than that of the EBC and just slide it in. Nice and flush fitting. :)
  11. Suprised you haven't been already. I'd get onto them as soon as. The more you go on, the higher the potential fine.
  12. I wish the ProfecB didn't have chrome nobs and blue screen. I know they are old, but I prefer the old-skool EBCs. Much more descrete. I could modify the backing of this and have it sitting flush on the dash bezel (same position as the previous photo I posted)
  13. I've never had that problem. Can't think of too many others who've had that either.
  14. ....also, the one in the photo is ACTUALLY a turbo timer (reads: waste of cash). I just used it as an illustration of where I could site a ProfecB or similar.

  16. You have a speedo to tell you how fast you're going. Most boost controllers will also tell you what boost you're getting, even the small ones.
  17. Exactly and there lays the problem. The Z dash is a nice smooth curvy dash. Having stuff bolted all over it makes it look a mess. It's why I want to go for something like this....
  18. Having it mounted anywhere on the dash is out of place IMHO.
  19. Incorrect. 2+2 was available in the USA. NA only though.
  20. Yup, that's ok. Was just a thought. Cheers. :)
  21. I'm not really after multiple functions. All I require is boost adjustment and pressure reading.
