Changing the oil pump on a TT
Just out of interest, why are you changing the oil pump? Never heard of one failing or wearing out. They appear to be one of the VG's strong points.

Thanks. :) It's one of the reasons I believed the mileage. The interior had absolutely no wear on it at all. Driver's bolster was still firm and unworn. Was almost a shame to retrim, but, the tweed had to go!- Found some old pics of my Z in Japan
Since Steve put up a before/after shot of his interior, I'll do the same too. ;)- Found some old pics of my Z in Japan
Yup, sure is. Stock is like a silvery-grey.- Found some old pics of my Z in Japan
You could, but for the cost, I'd replace. Originals don't come with the chromed bezels and the plastic won't have the same level of crispness as new stuff. I'm just a but anal when it comes to that!- Found some old pics of my Z in Japan
Thanks Gary/Isaac. Gary, I think you're referring to the 99-spec rear lights. These lights were only fitted to post 98 model Z32s in Japan. A lot of people buy them as an upgrade as they freshen up and modernise the rear end. IMO, it's one of the best modifications you can do to the arse of a Z32. Replacing the rear lights and centre panel with 99-spec rears was one of the first things I did to mine. For a cheap option, you can pull the lights apart and replace the amber defuser with a clear one, but you can't beat the look of the 99 rear lights. They are much more crisp and fresh than even modified originals.- I'm typing this in shock
Fantastic paint job. Puts mine to shame!- Found some old pics of my Z in Japan
Cheers guys. :D- Found some old pics of my Z in Japan
Looks quite a bit different from when it was here. These photos were taken before de-registration in Japan. Strange looking back at these. It's only by these that I realised what an awful stance it had! Got good money for those Rays wheels then when I fitted my Advans. Compare it to now, it looks quite a bit different.- Is this up to the job?
A'pexi all the way.- would these look good
The best handling, first and foremost comes from your suspension set up. Yes you can roll your arches, but please, get something that will fill them first. 9" on rolled arches won't look too hot, especially only being 17" in diameter.- Funky Si
Glad you enjoyed it mate. :)- would these look good
They are 17" 17s look too small on the 2+2. They'd rub on the rear arch lip with that offset. Not excessively as that's only a 9" wide wheel.- Rising Sun UK.
Hi Dan, I haven't edited your post as I am not a moderator. :wack:- Rev 3 or 4 gearboxes into a 1990 Z
Interesting. Never knew that. People don't tend to bother identifying the earlier gearboxes. The only one of any interest is the 98+ gearbox. On the contrary, the 98+ gearbox is what you'll get through Nissan if you order a new one. They are expensive though, but Z1 do them for around $1900. Was a bit of a bargain a year ago, not so much now. You'll be paying about £500 to have it shipped from the US as well, then a nice fat wad of that goes to the exchequer. Might be better off asking MJP whether he can get them at a reasonable price.- Rev 3 or 4 gearboxes into a 1990 Z
Which are the ones? Never heard of any Z gearbox as being refered to as that. AFAIK, there are only 2 different manual boxes that Nissan ever made for the production Z32. Pretty much identical, except the 98+ gearbox had much stronger syncro units and tougher bearings.- Tax costs
Think it's about £210 for anything pre-2000 I know you guys get absolutely shafted in Ireland on tax.- would these look good
