  1. It looks nice under all that stick on shite. Get rid of those hateful rear lights, cheese grater nose panel and nasty yellow pin striping and it's a decent car. Nice wheels and Stillen bumper extension. But the guy owning it is delusional and I REALLY REALLY hate it when people go 'Absolutely immaculate except for a bit of such and such'. **** OFF IT'S IMMACULATE! Grrrrrrrrrr If this is 'spot on and like new' then I'll go and donate my testicles to life research. That's a seriously shabby interior!
  2. 57i not i57! lol ;) I hate Metros, but the GTA and GTi are supposed to be pretty good fun. :) My great Aunt has a Metro GTA which she's had since nearly new and it's covered a whopping 18,000 miles! LOL She uses it once a week to go to Tescos which is 3 miles away! I clean it for her occasionally and always take it for a rant up the hills to clear its sorry little self out. It has no rust and is garaged.
  3. Scrote is an anagram of Escort or vice versa! You do have a Scrote. A 1.4 'Dash' 2-tone Scrote...am I right?
  4. Be interesting to know how fast they were travelling.
  5. Oh no. I had a feeling you might say that. :(
  6. AFAIK, there isn't. Why are you only wanting to take one off?
  7. Lovely cars those, but I bet your old Beta now looks like this...
  8. Ascona 400 is worth SERIOUS money now! Your Mum needs a telling off!
  9. 1: AFAIK, it has a broken gearbox and has been sat there for about 2 years. 2: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bristol/7984125.stm
  10. Pete, you can see from your sig pic that your front camber is out compared to the back.
  11. ....no scare mongering...if you're going to do the job, do it properly! You'll also be able to get a better stance as well as actually get your geometry into spec which it won't be if you've dropped the car by 40mm. Not always about tyre wear. There are other factors you need to take into consideration. :)
  12. Dude, you've had the car a month! LOL I've lost track of the amounts of threads along the lines of "my car is lowered and I'm getting bad tyre wear" etc.
  13. I bought an old Cavalier GSi about 5 years ago as a daily driver and loved it! I fitted some H&R springs to it and some Bilstein shocks and it handled like it was on rails. Seldom see them anymore, but I still think they look good. Despite the harshness of the 20XE, it still went well. Do kinda miss this car. I also had a very very rare Citroen ZX 16v when I was about 19 or 20. Great handling car with a fantastic engine. Despite being a Citroen, it was suprisingly well screwed together. It was the base that the Peugeot GTi-6 spawned from. Whilst this is not a photo of mine, it was exactly the same as this (bar the reg and the fact that it was RHD!) I'd love to find a mint condition one of these as it's certainly a car I'd still like to own. I don't really miss any of the more modern stuff I've owned. Always had a thing for 80s and 90s cars. Anything newer doesn't really float my boat design-wise. Miss my Vectra C estate though. The 1.9 CDTi engine and 6 speed box were great and made long motorway journeys nice and relaxing. I suppose I SHOULD miss this. It was an Astra 2.0 that I fitted a Calibra V6 engine to. It started life as a bog standard car, but I fitted all sorts of GM stuff to it. Had it for a good few years and the reason I liked it was the fact that I could always tinker around with it. Got a few magazine features, but I don't miss it to drive, just miss it to mess about on.
  14. Best option is to get a bumper that actually looks nice! :wack:
  15. They are essential if you want to make sure your geometry works!!!!!!!!!!!! My car didn't have them previously and I got bad inner tyre wear.
  16. Give it a few more miles then and you'll notice.
  17. How long have the tyres been on or how long has it been lowered?
  18. I'm sure for the price he could get something that actually looked AND sounded nice as well as went well.
  19. OEM wings Dave....read what I've written previously! ;)
  20. :rofl: PMSL! :wack::headvswal
  21. I think the OEM would look smarter in both instances though. :)
