Where would you draw your inspiration from when imaginaing your car fully modified to this state and standard? Everyone has different taste sure, but that is soooo far past bad taste, it makes Donatella Versace look strangely attractive. Not just the poor taste, but poor quality build. I've seen more quality in the township dwellings around Cape Town.

What's that on the door? One of those shitty oriental dragons or has someone thrown ketchup all over it? You can bet he reads the Daily Sport and his missus is the size of Newport Pagnell and has a huge lower back tattoo.

Woah! That's shocking! Actually this has been spotted on barryboys already, with flames all over the bonnet. They have since been painted out with Ox's bloody by the looks of it. Jim, was this taken in Bedminster?

Need car recommendation
Leon is a great car and looks better heaps better than the Golf IMO. Handling on them is excellent and build quality is pretty decent too. Comes with a decent level of kit. Few things I don't like about the Leon....these are pretty insignificant but offer high levels of annoyance. There is no blind spot mirror...and the Leon has quite a blind spot. Also, the glove box is truly pathetic and you can barely get the service/handbooks in there.

astra mk2 gte 16v or primera egt
Turbos are great and look the part too. Shame that the transfer box was their achillies heel as when working, they were a great car and the C20LET was a good engine. Not too many cars back then had a 6 speed gearbox! Always thought they looked better than the Sierra Sapphire Cosworths. Such a neat design with clean lines.

I know. But I've seen sub 1k 3 series are they look as tired as Jocelyn Wildenstein's face.

You'll get complete dogs of all examples for under 1k and I bet all but the VWs will cost more to repair than the Vauxhall.

Greddy on a stock-ish body?.... Bland is better than a 'clash'. ;)

astra mk2 gte 16v or primera egt
Astra GTE is not economy or comfort. You can get a decent Astra GTE 16v with tidy body for sub 2k. There is a boring category where the likes of the 406, Mondeo and Vectra sit though! LOL

astra mk2 gte 16v or primera egt
New cars are dull and boring in comparison. Full of driver aids, common as muck. The Primera won't get too many heads turning, but excellent condition Astra GTEs will. Old skool Vauxhalls are becoming retro-cool like the 80s fast fords and dubs.

Yup, me too. The Mk3 Cavalier (in saloon format) has a really nice profile. Still looks relatively modern compared to its rivals.

astra mk2 gte 16v or primera egt
Both are great cars. Have driven both. The MK2 GTE 16v is a hooligans car. Raw, noisey and to the point. As stock, its handling is pretty poor, but a good set of Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks sort that right out. Your biggest problem with the MK2 Astra is rust. Lots of it EVERYWHERE! Unless you pay good money for a really really tidy example, I wouldn't bother getting one. They really do rust everywhere...which is hardly surprising for a car of its age. Rear arches, sills, boot floors, chassis rails, suspension turrets wings, roof, door bottoms. As from Primera eGTs, they are a good solid car. Smooth, compared to the GTE and far more civilised. Rust isn't a problem so much on these and to find a half decent one will be easier than with a GTE. Avoid the hatchback, they are fugly! I had a Cavalier GSi as a daily driver about 7 or 8 years ago. I fitted some H&R springs to it and it transformed the car. Apart from the harsh old C / 20XE, it was a fab car to drive!

Yet more wheels for an opinion

Whats the best colour for calipers?; POLL
Silver or black. Unless you have aftermarket calipers, I'd not consider any other colour. No need to have your eyes drawn to something that really isn't that attractive. So make it clean and fresh. Painting them yellow, green, red, gold etc isn't making them clean and/or fresh.

modding a zed?
There are about 2 or 3 different maps for that ECU. As above, would get a replacement chip. If it's an agressive map written for JDM fuel spec, it's gonna chew up the engine.

modding a zed?
Wouldn't bother with a DV, will do absolutely NOTHING for performance and on stock management will be detrimental to it. As for airfilter. As tested, A'pexi are at the top of the list.
