  1. It'll feel completely different than the Focus and the Astra. Both the two hot hatches are very snappy cars that'll feel a lot more nimble than the Z32. So your judgement maybe clouded somewhat. The Z is in its element through the mid range powerband. It's a GT car, not a traffic light grand prix hot hatch.
  2. You are! If it's top end tap and gets louder when warm, it could be the VVT springs.
  3. Does it do it when it's hot or cold....or all the time? Why would you suspect it being turbos if it's tapping?
  4. Undecided. I like the front, very inkeeping with the original car. But the rear....just doesn't seem to work. I am sure it looks much more flattering in person.
  5. Absolutely stunning! EXACTLY my idea of how a nice engine bay should look. All black/chrome and silver. None of this coloured hose nonsense. So pleasing to look at!
  6. I know, that wasn't what I was referring to.
  7. Too true Graham. Kids get off scott free and because of this, they think they are above the rules and the law. When I was at school teachers were strict and you didn't mess, you learnt respect.
  8. Like I said, a different fuel map won't have any real effect on performance. Unless he spec'd the ECU and knows what map is on it, the owner will have absolutely no idea how aggressive the map actually is.
  9. Chip won't really alter the performance. Merely different maps for different levels of boost and/or injector size.
  10. Fuel mapping could be an aggressive one. To save the engine, it's worth popping in another known chip.
  11. ...get rid of that MINES ECU if you get it though.
  12. Looks really nice apart from the awful colours of the wheels.
  13. Interesting. Have you had any calibration problems with any of the pitot tubes?
  14. ...and you know better because? ;) It's well documented that Katla is a huge volcano and can cause a lot a devastation.
  15. Hardly. The government did that already!
  16. Have you had any interesting analysis reports back? Quite interested to know. Not sure how the filters work on hydraulic systems on airplanes. Do they have an external breather system as well as the obvious return and inline pressure filters?
  17. I meant the magma chamber is 100 times bigger. The glacier is also enormous. It's not managed it before as the last eruption was about 100 years ago and average temperatures in the northern hemisphere dropped by a noticable amount.
  18. Mine too. But the precursor to the eruption build up could last for some time. Any melting water in the glacier has to turn to super heated steam for some time before it has the power to blast through nearly 1km thick of ice.
  19. Lost the bloody link to the seismology report. There are a few reports on abovetopsecret.com
  20. Sorry, magma chamber is 100 times larger. It's the ash that it'll produce that will be the big killer. The glacier is huge and extremely deep.
  21. You'll be going by boat then!
  22. Just been reading some vague news that seismic activity has increased at the Mt Katla site in Iceland (over that of the increased activity since Eyjafjallajoekull blow) and a significant earthquake has been reported as of yesterday. Predictions are that she'll blow her lid on the 3rd of May. The volcano's located beneath a glacier some 3/4 of a kilometer deep. Apparently, the melting ice would cause a flood equivalent to the combined daily outflow of the river Nile and Amazon! This volcano is 100 times larger than Eyjafjallajoekull and we could be in for a nuclear winter for quite some time when it does erupt....which is imminent!
