  1. Very nice....but CLEAN IT! lol :)
  2. I'll have to take them all out and look. What would be the state of play if I had different rated speakers front and rear?
  3. ....something like this for the fronts? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=140917755516
  4. I can see your washer bottle, even from that blurred photo mate...and on my phone! lol ;)
  5. I got a pretty sorted stance I think mate and my liners are still there. You need to find out where it actually catches.
  6. Thanks y'all. I have already upgraded the speakers. Alpine direct replacements all round. I might go for better fronts with seperate tweeters. Currently, they're two-way. I want components for the front I think which a much larger magnet that can handle more power. So the general consensus is that I should get a driver for all 4 speakers? I might get cross overs, but I am a little concerned about space behind the doors. I am not one for simply bolting them to the door card as, imo, that is a terrible look.
  7. Still have all my liners intact. I certainly won't remove them. Makes the car look like it hasn't been put back together properly and tatty. I have 19" wheels. Fronts are 8.5mm wide with a +20 offset. On 'extreme' cases, it lightly catches, but that's only if I encounter a speed hump that's too agressive at slightly too much speed....ie, it rarely happens. If you use your Z in the wet, even more of a reason NOT to take them off.
  8. Always like bodyshop pics. How come you did your roof bars satin black not gloss black?
  9. Thanks Graham. I also can't turn my head unit up above about vol.17 before I get distortion. This is why I am confused, my head unit is pretty high spec and was one of the highest spec Alpine head units about when it was new (it's about 7 or 8 years old now)
  10. I fitted a contoured sub in my Z, ooooh, some 4 years ago now I think. As far as subs go, it looks ok....it adds some bass..nothing mind blowing......but..... I kinda get slightly embarrassed when opening my boot and there to be seen is 'phat sub' sat there staring back. I know some like this look and are into competition builds or what have you but I really want rid of it. I'd benefit more with the boot space if I'm honest. I just don't like speakers on display. My only trouble is, the 4 speakers that are powered from the head unit sound rubbish. Virtually no mid-range at all. Now, I've got an Alpine headunit and Alpine speakers all round. I've run new cabling. I've also applied sound deadening to the OEM tin speaker frames in the front as well as the Bose speaker boxes (which have been gutted) in the back. I know sod all about ICE as I've never really wanted anything more than a nice head unit and 4 speakers. I added the sub as I had no bass. With it disconnected, the system sounds weak. The head unit is 4x45w I think, so you'd expect it to sound pretty good. Would it benefit from adding a small amplifier for these speakers? I really have little clue as to how to make it all sound a little better. Ideally, like the sound system in my new Jetta; sure, it has about 8 speakers, but clarity and mid-range is great. I do not need a number-plate rattling sub...in fact I don't want! I know nothing about impedance or RMS values which I know play a key role. Any help would be gratefully received.
  11. The Z32 rear lights are about as dated as Marlyn Monroe. A timeless design that nothing else seems to evoke. So do these! Nothing else remotely like it! IMO, the rear of the Z32 is one of those timeless classics. The rear lights really make this car look exotic as there's little out there that's ever looked similar.
  12. 390bhp? See no hint of any modifications, not even a boost controller. Cheap....but stinks of antelope pee. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300ZX-JDM-Twin-Turbo-Fairlady-Z-350-BHP-MANUAL-SWAP-WHY-P-X-/121174439250?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1c368f3552
  13. Really? It's like slicing your nose off and gluing a tampon to your face. Removing the key and most distinguishable styling feature of the Z32. :)
  14. Also check what tint it is. If this glass is bronze tint (as are 80% of JDM glass tints are), then it will be a different tint to your UK car which is blue,
  15. Hahaha! Best place for them! :) I'd torch my entire car if someone did that. I couldn't live with myself knowing my Z was ever abused by those!
  16. LOL!!! Voted! I am sure everyone can guess which choice I selected! Shame there's only one method of destruction though! Need MOAARRR!
  17. ....and didn't I do you a HUGE favour! Such an improvement Gary!
  18. Ditch the snout and go for a smooth nose panel and you'd be onto a right winner there. The Impul kits is nice and rare and so easy on the eye.
  19. I think it reminds me of this for some reason..... It's not bad. TBH, none of the current range of BMWs really float my boat. They all look like they've been driven into a brick wall.
  20. Thought it was you! Car looked very tidy.
  21. Has anyone here replaced a worn strut top? I have what I think is a worn near side one. The main shock nut appears not to be in dead-centre like it does on the offside, in addition I get a very faint squelching sound from that area at low speed over speed humps. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before? I've had it on a car I owned years ago and the symptoms are similar.
  22. Poor Jeff....I guess he still hasn't officially retired yet!
