  1. They're plastic willys.
  2. I expect half of all Nissan employees don't even know what a 300zx is. You'd have more joy phoning the Great Soprendo! For reference, these are my UK clocks - excuse the lousy illumination:
  3. Why is this is the 'newbies' forum?
  4. You mean 'know'? UK speedo should read 180mph and also have kph in smaller lettering. Have you spotted that strange 160mph speedo on ebay? There was one up for a while now being sold by AndyZ which was claimed to be a UK speedo which only went to 160mph. What I could assume with that was that it could have been from a really early test car/press car.
  5. That looks...erm....'different' (to put it politely).
  6. How many Z32s were at JAE this year?
  7. I've recently completed a full programme of replacing all my suspension bushings with NISMO bushes and removed all the solid joints which I loath. I replaced the damper bushings, the lower arm bushings, the tension rod bushings, control arm bushings, the lower hub carrier bushings, inner and outer HICAS joints, the front, I ditched the Powertrix upper control arms with Z1 FUCAs, new tension rods, new anti roll bar drop links, new anti roll bar bushings, strut top bushings and various other odds and sods. It has made the ride so much more supple, yet feels every bit as precise as it did with solid bushings. I can comfortably say that solid bushings on the Midori style suspension components that we see for the Z32 are awful and utterly pointless on a road car. When I bought mine all those years ago, I was rather neive and because there wasn't much on the market, I went with it. TBH, good stock suspension is far better. I am pretty happy with my quality of ride now and would recommend everyone with old or solid bushings to do the same before the NISMO bushes are no longer available (as JP has suggested), they're depleting. Replacing all the bushings is quite an involving job as there are so many of them and they're not cheap (I had all my suspension components powdercoated too), but well worth the upgrade over nasty solid joints which are only worthwhile on a Z that you track. You couldn't pay me enough to fit solid bushings and Midori style components to my Z. One of the best things I did was to rip all that out.
  8. Welcome and good luck with the project! As for the engine choices, a 4 cylinder in a Z32 is my idea of a downgrade. Sure, they're lighter and you can get a lot of power out of them, but you may as well just get an S14. They don't sound all that great either. I don't understand this idea really. RB26DETT is the one I'd go for out of those two without a shadow of a doubt. Personally for me, you have a TT already, I'd say use that. They sound better than both options you're considering and can be made to develop plenty of power. I'd honestly just do a manual conversion on it. I think the only engines I'd personally look at fitting to a Z32 (and it would be a 'money no problem' swap) would be a VR38DETT or a a heavily modified (and probably turbocharged) VK56. Either way, good luck with it all. :)
  9. Utter bargain for what is probably the best off-the-shelf 300ZX systems. Along with the Abflug system, they are the best made and best sounding systems.
  10. Looks like a REALLY early version. 5Zigen systems were part of Border IIC. The later dual systems had stainless steel rear boxes rather than mild steel construction. I know they existed, but never actually seen one.
  11. I was 22 at the time and I was working at the Ministry of Defence as a radar research analyst (first job out of University). I remember seeing it pop up on the BBC News website and the more I watched, the more shocked and sickened I became. Our site was immediately put on its highest alert; all cars and personnel entering and leaving were subject to a full search. I was on flexi-time and by the time 2pm was reached, I couldn't concentrate any further and went home. What was worse was that less than a month earlier, I had flown in and out of the eastern United States and it completely screwed my brain.
  12. Great photos Andrew and Joel! It was a fantastic trip, thoroughly enjoyed it! My Z was as reliable as ever and ran faultlessly throughout, as did all 3 (we'll forget about Joel's leaky hose as it was rectumified without too much trouble). A nice idea, however the very worst time to go to Monte Carlo. The summer season's traffic is bad enough on the French and Italian rivieras, mix that with F1 and really isn't worth driving anywhere near. Hotels within a 50 mile radius (which aren't cheap at the best of times) have their prices doubled and get booked up 12 months+ in advance. That area is best visited before or after the Italian and French holiday season has either started or ended.
  13. Says the man with black wheels and eBay tail lights. :wack:
  14. Damn dude! Sorry to hear. Maybe it's time to remove that box and go for a manual conversion.
  15. Two of them for £260? :wack: ;)
  16. Welcome and good luck with that one! That's going to take some serious effort to get that back to showroom condition! I do hope to see you complete it though and I hope you retain the original pearl yellow - a VERY rare colour in Euro specification Z32s.
  17. DTA - I was actually in contact with their guy still in Holland. Danny is about and he does pop on here from time to time. I do have it on my email, I'll just check.
  18. I didn't have much time yesterday - you have no idea! You won't blow a seal doing a boost leak check dude. That's what I'd do. - - - Updated - - - ....I'm staying up near Heathrow next week (Monday night), if you're about.
  19. Sorry dude, got your whatsapp yesterday, was in the office all day! Can't really hear it in the video, but if you have a scream or wheeze on boost, then check all your couplers and condition of your hoses as it sounds like you have a boost leak somewhere.
  20. No, you won't have any problems unless your adjusters are broken, that's the only issue you'll likely to expect and Z32 headlights are broken for adjuster breakage.
  21. They're still developing a new front bumper that's more inline with the OEM style. In addition, they are in the midst of producing a range for the MK4 Supra, they've launched some new skirts, a rear bumper, spoiler and some front end stuff for that. I'm not keen to add anything else, I love the stock TT front bumper and everything else, I'd just like a sleeker more 'fitted' spoiler to clean up the rear lines a little better. :) The 99-spec looks great from directly behind and from side on, but the more I look at it from a 3/4 angle either from the front or the rear, I am questing its appeal more and more.
  22. It's so much neater and more slick looking. It also gives the illusion of the car being more 'squat. The fit is absolutely amazing too.
  23. Yes, you heard it here first! I've been umming and arrrrring over my spoiler for quite a few months now and I have come to the stark realisation that I really do want a change from my 99-spec. It won't happen until next year, but the choice in spoiler I've gone for is a TwinZ Type 1, the very same as JoelyP's. I've totally fallen in love with it after viewing Joel's car out on the open road for many hours at every conceivable angle! I also think I am going to get some MeisterR coilovers so that I can mess about with the rear ride height a little more as it just doesn't sit quite how I'd like it. I said I was finished with bodywork - but nope, I really want a change!
