  1. It's a price listed on their website. Well, there is a 'package' you can buy so they tell me. It's just another avenue I could go down if I can't find anything I want.
  2. I've spoken to them on the phone and they seem pretty confident they can find me exactly what I'm looking for. But it would mean buying it blind I guess. They do offer a 7 day warranty or something gay like that. Oh yeah, do understand their shipping costs and stuff. But for a car over 10 years old, you add on around 800 quid for shipping and an MOT/Registration.
  3. If this had happened yesterday, the Olympics would be in Paris in 2012. It's either something to do with those anti-capitalist tree huggers or some Al Qaeda rubbish no doubt. My cousin takes that route to work, but since she was part of the UK Olympic team bid out in Singapore, she was lucky not to be here right now.
  4. So power surges cause a bus to blow up?
  5. Been looking at their stock lists for some months now and they seem to get a decent throughput of Zs. Some seem a little cheap, but you do have to add shipping costs and such like as they are only agents. Just wondering if anyone has ever used them in the past and if they offer a good service and decent vehicles. http://www.amplified-performance.com if no one's used them before...but I guess most of you have heard of them. Thanks :D
  6. Guys, I'm really sorry this thread cause problems....I had no idea of these 'past events'. Could someone fill me in?? Not in the 'punch in the face' sence. Sorry for the thread. :(
  7. I've been looking at this....do like it, but seller appears to be a numptie and it's the wrong colour....wonder if it will go for that price...should do I guess, seen the SWBs go for a lot more.
  8. I think it has something to do with the amount of taxpayers money that’s going to be thrown at this event could well go towards better causes. The hassle it’s going to give the residents of London/surrounding areas is also going to be considerable. I bet Ken Livingston who's responsible for the congestion charge is rubbing his hands with glee. Think of all those extra visitors no doubt having to pay congestion charges. Just a generalisation, I think it will be a nice thing to have really, although I'm sure the UK tax payer will be footing the bill. Look what's happened to Athens. The area gets virtually no use, whether that's to do with miss management is another story, but Greece will be paying for the Olympics for the next 12 years.
  9. As much as I like France and I like the French...'Jacque Chirac, EAT 5HIT'..for the 'ghey' comments you've made about the UK lately!!!
  10. This is very very graphic. But it shows you what can happen if you overtake on a blind corner and get met with a dump truck...
  11. Thanks...anyone have any photos of tooley's car?
  12. Do you know where it's available from?
  13. Yeah, I know it's on a SWB, but wanted to know if something like this was still available...seen larger versions of it. But just wondering if there's somewhere where you can get this exact version. Gathering it would fit on a LWB tailgate.
  14. I like the look of those BMW and top spec Merc LED rear lights. A few companies have started producing them for other cars actually. Just a real shame they just look like chavy Lexarse versions as fitted to Saxos, Corsas and such like.
  15. The fact that it has that appalling excuse for a bodykit on it would turn me away straight away. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to bodystyling and like subtle touches, nice rims, maybe a small rear spoiler and a some nice j-spec bits thrown in for good measure. Not Max Power style bodykits rammed with mesh, shopping lists up the doors etc. Makes for a really unpleasing appearance. Seen it on autotrader for ages now and that's actually the first time I've clicked on it really to see exactly how ruined that car really is. YUK!
  16. Morning all, once again, thanks for the warm welcome. Thanks also for all the information. What I meant by the rear diff, was actually the rear wheel steering….badly worded, sorry. But since no one’s touched on the subject, I gather this system is pretty reliable too. Well, I seem to have provisionally sold my current car, so with a few pounds lurking somewhere, my budget for a car will be from around 4,500 – 5,000. Now looking at some of the cars for sale on Autotrader….and seemingly on here, I should be able to get a very good one for that price. Would that seem realistic? Like I said, I want as close to standard as possible, with main preference being manual transmission. With regards to synthetic oil on older engines (unless rebuilt), could this not cause problems, especially with turbo seals? Fully synthetic is too thin in some applications and can sometimes seep through the seals. Does anyone find this?
  17. 26...although don't have a Z yet, but should do within a month or two.
  18. Thanks for the warm welcome chaps, much appreciated. Legrath, where abouts are you just out of interest? Craig David, yeah, I am not ‘too’ fussy, but really do want a manual version. Skylinedave, yeah, I am going to settle for a LWB version, more than happy with those anyway. karlosg, thanks for the link, interesting info there. Yup, do want a standard on, even if I do lightly mod it, I’ll want it to be my taste, so will steer clear of vehicles with HUGE rear wings, fibreglass bodykits and such like. Anyone have any other recommendations as to good sources for reasonably priced cars? My budget for the car initially is around £4,000 not an awful lot, but should be able to pick up a lowish mileage Fairlady for that from what I’ve seen. LOL @ Daves new ZX....well yeah, I’m sure I’ll end up doing a few things to it, not much though. Some replacement wheels, uprated suspension and maybe a larger I/C. PS, I've not actually driven a TT version. Whilst at university many moons ago, I did have a job working at 'Motorway' in Southampton and got chance to drive quite a lot of vehicles. Fell in love with the GTO which is also a 3.0 V6 TT, not as keen on the shape as the Z of which I only drove an N/A (still nice). So need to have a drive in one really at some point.....which is tricky.
  19. Cheers SRRAE, Amplified-Performance last week had 3 manual versions and when I spoke to the agent last week, they said they'd be able to get me one if I wanted. I know they are relatively rare, but I'd rather hold out for a manual one really. SWB isn't really feasable as they are, as you say, very rare. Moreover, they go for more than I currently want to spend on one, so that idea is shelved.
  20. Many thanks. I may well do that. Once my current car is sold and I have a total budget, that looks like the ideal thing to do...but if I buy blind through an agent, that may not be possible.
  21. Evening all. Just signed up. Looking to purchase my very first Z. Been hankering for one for a while. Selling my current car to make way for one. Well, I'm sure 1.4 million similar threads of this nature have been posted before. But though I'd not bump old threads with my questions, so I started afresh. Looking primarily to buy a Fairlady rather than a UK spec Z which seem to be few and far between, especially with low mileage. SWB model would be my choice, but those fetch above my budget really and are also seldom available. Choice now is a manual version, in preferably Silver, Red or pearl white. Now I don't know much about them unfortunately, I've tried doing some research, but thought it best to ask every day owners what problems they suffer from and how they generally feel about the cars. I understand that prices for spares can be astronomical, which is not so bad as it will only be a second car and shan't be modifying it to a great degree. What I'd like to know is what are the trouble spots with the car? I gather that rear diffs are costly and do go wrong. Generally the standard engines are really reliable, but turbos can suffer along with bottom ends. Is there anything else I need to look for? I've been speaking to 'Amplified-Performance' about getting a suitable low mileage Z for me from Japan. Saw one last week, but unfortunately it's already been sold. I'm after a totally standard one, as little modifications as possible. Any info thrown this way for a newbie would be greatly appreciated...we all have to start somewhere I guess. Cheers for reading. Si :)
