  1. ...ok, so I've transfered my private plate over to my zed. Got fancyplates to make me some new ones....lovely quality I might add. BUT, I can't decided if I prefered it with a square plate. Usually I can't stand square plates, main reason being that they are big, and tend to be fitted on either one side of front bumpers after barryboys have bigmouthed their paxo bumpers etc. Anyway...what do you reckon?
  2. Ok, so they are bonded in with black gloup as well as screwed in. Rear panel comes off nice and easily. But how the hell do you prise the rear lights out? Is it a case of hairdryer on the ruddy things for 15 mins or is there a knack?
  3. 3 zed photos? 2 were of the same car...which was standard. Nowt wrong with that, but the quality was terrible.
  4. I'd sooner have that Dodge charger...which is what I think it is. As much as I love women they are a right royal PITA.
  5. Beans on EVERYTHING! lmao Beans on Pasty and beans with fish and chips are the best though. :)
  6. That's to please the market though....so all the little kids can fit 19" rims to their Paxos!
  7. Who's short and round TT then?
  8. BEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone knows how much I like these!!!
  9. Agree with every word....but it does swing the other way. So the invaded lands can also think the same about their culture and lifestyle.
  10. Nowt wrong with Yugo 45s....well there is, but this is nice...
  11. I really don't know as I've only heard .345 seconds of something of hers.
  12. I prefer the summer. I tan in minutes. Hate the cold weather. My Zed stays indoors too. Don't want it anywhere near damp/wet and nasty salty gritty roads.
  13. Discuss? All I can really be bothered to type is...... CHAV
  14. Might not be in my zed....depends on the weather though. It'll have its new plate on and maybe sporting new 99spec lights when they arrive.
  15. Older style plates. A letter was denoted to a year or part year. ie, an L reg is 93/94 M reg is 94/95 N reg is 95/96 and so on. 'Q' plates are for vehicles where a year of manufacture cannot be established, so some kit cars and stolen/recovered vehicles have these. No O plates or Z plates either as these look like zero and the number two. No I plates or U plates either. We are now using a different system. Currently '55' plate is the current one next will be 06, then 56 and so on. I have an Astra Estate as well Jason, an 02 diesel. Pretty slow, but returns a healthy MPG and the MK4's are reasonable cars. Half decent build quality and a smooth ride. Handle quite well for a bit of a barge.
  16. Somewhere I've had in the back of my mind for a few years now. Since meeting a lot of them onboard ship and found Filipinos to be a really friendly race, I've though a bit more seriously about going out there for a few weeks. Now, it's either do this or get a leather retrim for my Zed, but feel more inclined to go away again. Other than the cost of the flight, most things look to be fairly cheap out there. Have read up about it a little and does look like a really interesting place to go. Quite up for seeing the chocolate mountains!
  17. You're highly unlikely to get tyres of that size second hand. Agree with Richard, narrower tyres are better in the wet. Whilst wider tyres have a large contact area, the weight is being transmitted over a wider area therefore reducing traction.
  18. Manual, wouldn't have an auto for something like a TT zed.
  19. Oh right cool. I'll have a look for one. I'm only messing about at the moment. I'll not go near my zed. But a few friends I know want the odd panel painted on a cheap car, I'm happy with it as it is. The above came out quite well considering I've not finished it yet. I'll finish the otherside though 1500grit or 2000grit before cutting back and finally polishing.
  20. After teaching myself how to spray well using cans, I thought I'd best progress onto using a spray gun and spraying properly. Now, I've not used 2k here, but acrylic, better than crappy cellulose, but not as good as 2k. Anyway, only really practicing. I've had this old tailgate from a Cavalier lying around that I was going to put on my old one before I sold it. Anyway, since I'm friends with the new owner, I said I'd spray and fit the new one. Been meaning to get down into my little workshop/mess house for some time now. Original colour was a rather faiding and scratched diamond black. I'm respraying it lagoon blue. Unfortunately, I don't really have any good progress pics, but this is the spoiler from the tailgate which needs spraying, so you can get an idea of what it looked like before. Grubby, faided, old, just tatty looking. This is the little compressor I'm using and spray gun. Pretty good really. The spray gun leaks a bit and needs a new seal really. So have to be careful when spraying. After spending an age stripping it down and sanding down the inside of of it, I sprayed it in base coat metallic. Mixed with 1 part thinners and 1 part base coat. As you can see a good even coating. After leaving it for 48hrs I applied the clear coat. Which you put straight into the gun with no thinners. Here's it is shortly after spraying. Not going to bother flatting this back and cutting it back. It's only an inside panel. But not bad for a first attempt. I have to do the tailgate in 2 stages as I don't have a frame to mount it on. So thought I'd best do the inside first. I'll do the spoiler when I spray the top of the lid. I'll only 'finish off' the new paint on the lid and the spoiler as the rest will either be inside or hidden by trim.
  21. Dave, did you have that stonechip finish flatted off the rear bumper and sills?
  22. glad I'm not the only one who got confused then!!
  23. Glad you're not fitting that bumper. IMHO, it doesn't look right.
