Here we go, he started on my wheels today. bugger- the inner and outer rims are/ have been welded together- so alot harder (as in trickier ) to do, oh well. Firstly,Started to remove the curb markings. then to clean the rest of the wheel up. All the markings taken out, rubbed down to 2500 wet n dry, then polished Then Mark thought, what will the inner rim look like polished ????? and how long of course And this happend , so we spoke on the phone and the inners are being mirror polished too.

He's working on them now and should have some piccies for me tomorrow. He's just done these actually. A very tired, yet very rare set of 13" RS wheels... On the bottom left here. They've been powder coated in gloss black, the outer rims and faces have been machine ground to remove any markins/pitting. Then the faces and rims were polished.

I still can't understand how someone could leave the scene. I'd have found the nearest bridge and jumped now if I'd have done something like that. But I used to get anxiety attacks. Some people are just more headstrong....or weak, not worked that out yet. Needless to say, I could not drive off.

Just don't paint the mating surfaces. I need to do my non-contact disk areas actually. Just give them a good clean and a wire brush and paint. Use a high temp paint. A nice silver or black is usually the best colour. Doesn't matter too much if you get it on the braking surfaces as it'll burn off, just be careful for the first mile or two. Keep the mating surface clean and sand off any paint that you may get on there.

Check that it hasn't previously had a boost controller. Sometimes they get removed and not put back to standard as they should have been. Just check the actuators are plugged in. Unfortunately with mine, one of the actuators had been left unplugged due to a boost controller being fitted and whilst the engine was amazing when I got it, due to unlimited boost, it quickly wore it out. Also, is yours auto or manual? If it's auto you'll need a tx oil cooler fitted.

Trust me, they are dangerous. I've had the misfortune of driving a car with DTM cup mirrors. The mirror glass is stupidly small and the mirror quality very poor. They came fitted to a VW Golf I bought for a runabout and nearly had an accident on the M27 as I couldn't see a thing out of them. First thing I did was remove them and replace with the originals. Absolutely terrible things. Have been in another few cars with them and they are all very very poor quality. Due to the shape, they just don't have the width angle to them and you just cannot use them to any benefit other than what's directly behind you.

Rightly so that they are not available. It would be like fitting a set of remounds to the Zed. Cup mirrors are awful and found adorning most modded Saxos about. Apart from their appauling quality, you can't see Jack shit out of them. Anyway, Luke at the Zcentre does nice aftermarket mirrors and I think that Chris at GetGreddy does too.

Yeah, would be nice. If you have the money though, I personally think (after a respray in pearl black) that you should go for these. They are HRE 441Rs. Absolutely stunning wheels. You can get them as wide as 12"

Agreed. I doubt his is 200bhp. Unless his has a Supercharger or Throttle Boddies (which he hasn't) and no way will he get 320 out of it unless he has either of the previous two mods AND 150shot of Nitros.
