  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mike, have a great day ;-) Jamez
  2. Lol :-D Yes mate, she was daily drive for 5 yrs, then summer toy for 2. Since the accident & now the fact she needs a full respray & am doing full suspension rebuild I fancy a change & playing on the track until ive saved enough pennies for the damage repair & respray.... Ideally dont want to weld it but dont know anyone that has shimmed a diff before, do you? Jamez
  3. Thanks Mark, very helpful & with Mickey on speed dial gor back I think I'll manage it...... I hope :-) Taff - No mate replacing my damaged TT subframe with a recond & polybushed one & a welded TT diff ;-) Jamez
  4. Shouldn't apply though should it as ive had hicas removed & lockout bar already in place? Jamez
  5. Thanks for the reassurance guys :thumbup1: if I have any problems i'm coming to you :gun_bandana:lol Jamez
  6. Easy enough to do off axle stands though bud? & what else am I gonna have to remove other the exhausts & suspension arms etc.? Jamez
  7. Right, got finally got The Dutchess in the garage for the winter ready for her full suspension upgrade & rebuild, subframe & diff replacement. So...... not fazed by the suspension rebuild, however, i'm kinda dreading dropping the subframe & diff & replacing the pair of them. Was going top get Jeff to do it but as I've spent so much on upgraded parts funds are running low...... Can anyone who has changed the subframe & diif before tell me what i'm looking at time wise & the difficulties I may encounter? Cheerz Jamez
  8. Happy Birthday Day bud hope youve had a great day ;-) Jamez
  9. Thanks will do just that ;-)
  10. No i'm not sure at all mate, majority of smoke was white rather than blue but then I thought it did have a hint of blue in it or maybe just me thinking the worst & being paranoid...... Think i'll have to wait till next yr when I've finished the suspension rebuild & clutch work & take her out for a good long blast before I make any rash decisions..... Jamez
  11. New PCV valves fitted about 5 years ago by Jeff @ Zedworld, could it be them again?
  12. Well after nearly eighteen months of being laid up & repairing the bent suspension arms etc, I finally got her off the axle stands on all 4 wheels & she started on the second attempt no probs. All seemed fine no smoke & she was purring like a kitten, however, after about 5 mins of being on tickover I noticed smoke from drivers side exhaust and quite a lot of it. Gently revved the engine to 3K and held it there smoke cleared & was fine again walked away leaving her ticking over, turned round a minute or 2 later & smoke again :-( I might add there was a little white smoke from passenger side but hardly any & not always there. I did change the oil & filter before firing her up by the way. I'm expecting the worst (blown seal/s) but am kinda hoping its not... Any thoughts guys & girls? Cheerz Jamez
  13. Hi mate, thanks but don't worry I've sorted some how. When you suggested it may has lost contact with fob I took the fob to the car removed the fob battery & reinserted it, led on fob remained lit for quite some time, pressed the fob twice & locked the car & armed it, pressed again & hey presto :-) Happy boy, thanks anyway dude ;-) Jamez
  14. with the car being off the road for nearly eighteen months, went to start her up today but the alarm/immobiliser wont arm or disarm. New battery in car & in alarm fob. Led just keeps flashing, when I press the fob the led stops flashing and goes off for few seconds then continues flashing again???.... Dashboard lights up when turning key but obviously because the immobiliser hasn't disarmed I get nothing. Anyone with a Clifford alarm had the same problem or has anyone got any ideas?..... Cheerz Jamez

  21. as above got caliper assembly & rotor off + tie rod ball joint, just got the lower ball joint & kingpin lower nut & the actual removal of the hub & steering knuckle assembly to go..... Question is how do I separate the assembley once the king pin & the lower arm nuts are undone ? do I need spring compressors or is it a case of a long bar pushed down on lower arm & lift off??? Hope this makes sense..... Cheerz Jamez
