High boost and bearings
Ok so i pull the engine yesterday and like i was thinking I found the bearing #5 damaged. What one of my friend make me think about is that it's always the #5 that is damage. Why is it like this? It can't be the rods because I change them since last time. Also, I installed a Nismo cranckshaft since last time too. Any help?

Engine numbers
I don't really agree with you. I kill 2 engine just because I didn't know about the grade and install the wrong one. For me, the best things to do is to not trust what is stamp on the block or the cranck. Just buy several grades and test them with plastigage. This take way more time and little bit more money but that way you can't make any mistake.

I do it and it's lot of fun :) It's way more difficult than any other car but with all the modofication i did, now it's start to be easy... I don't have dry sump, I damage the bearing offen. I pull the engine yesterday and bearing #5 is dead :( Cost me 40000€ so far to drift, race and drag with the Z.

Sure i will fix it but I would like to do it for the last time :) I will check on the TTnet forum, they have some racing Z. Anyway, I have a oil pressure warning gauge and had no oil pressure problems but if it's only during half a second, maybe the Greddy gauge can't read it... That's winter so I have time.

Hi all, was on track yesterday again with my Z and for the 1st time since the rebuilt (eagle rods and Nismo crankshaft and OEM bearings) my bearings are gone... I was running 23 psi, tha car was really powerfull but... I don't understand what has cause this. I have the full set of Greddy warning Gauge and no alarm were reach. My oil level was perfect, using Castrol RS 10W60. Does the boost can create this? really need help or I will swap the engine...

i haven't try with controller off, i will try tomorrow. I have tune the AFR but it's too rich, will work on it later. I'm hopping to get close to 600HP. It's a the flywheel

SO i went to the dyno yesterday but I already knew that the score wouldn't be impressive as I'm running only 0.9bar (14psi) and the AFR at full boost is 10.0 (and the AEM wideband can't read below 10.0 so maybe less...) here is the graph: http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/307/p1010478zq1.jpg Why am I boosting only 14psi with my engine? because I can't boost more so here is my question: I have a greddy TD05-16G turbo kit with external wastegate and I'm running a greddy profec B spec 2 boost controller. Can someone make a drawing that explain me how to connect the profec B and where to connect it on the wastegate? thank you for the help.

lenght of the 2+2 shaft
hello all, i need to know the lenght of the shaft for the 2+2 with manual gearbox. I need help from someone that have one in spare as it's too difficult to be accurate when it's on the car. I order a carbon fiber shaft and so far i received 2, one too short and one too long... i'm not home and the are asking me the exact size... thank you

i'm coming home tuesday but before leaving i order a new Nismo crankshaft from CZP that i bring to the machine shop to mesure all the different size (can't find my word for explaining this :s) But i order the "correct" bearing size and will install all tuesday night and will do the plastigage testing. Hope everything will be find :)

i do the lexan panel myself and the carbon panel will be for the door. I will do them myself too. There is a lot of weight to gain as i will remove the eletrical motors of the power windows. Also, i would like to find Carbon TTop and carbon (or fiber) hatch but that will be for later :) Will see first how the engine is going ;)

he has GT28RS turbos ;) and the car is not completly light as he don't have any carbon panel neither lexan windows

my car is already 1350kg but it's a 2+2 ;) Also, i'm going with this lexen glass and Carbon fibre panels too and will see soon how it goes ;) I may also come to participate in some Event in UK as my friend from Clashproduction are covering almost all the event over there ;)

yes i could be interested to go with you Wozzer, only if i'm in France and not offshore ;) Otherwise, i don't understand why people say it's a GT. Yes when you buy it from the dealer it's a GT but then there is enought aftermarket parts to help this car become a track car... SPL finished in very good position in the last 2 event of time attack in USA and IMSA 300zx wins Le Mans ;)

i've just check the web site of time attack in UK and i'm surprise there is no 300zx at all... Why nobody participate to this event :confused: One of our trader could have one 300zx to race with it, why not :confused:

Did you know that SPL is not using SPL coilover on his time attack race car ? I'm telling you this but i don't know the answer of the question :)

rebuilding would be about 700€ which is the same as buying the nismo one from the states. But the question is more about does rebuilding is good or not? Because then, i would have a lighter crankshaft :)

ho yes i know but it's the exact same as the one sold by Nissan. There is no difference between an OEM and a Nismo one ;)

Good morning all, My crankshaft is damaged again (second time...) but this time i was lucky my rods are not damaged. The problem was that i didn't know how to choose the correct size of bearing. I'm not a mechanic, i just like modifying my engine and i pay what it cost to learn ;) So my question is about my crankshaft. I could go with a brand new one from nissan for 1080€ or make muine to be rebuild, re balance and lighten. What should i do? I would prefer going with a rebuilt and lighten as this will be an upgrade for the engine but don't know the back side of doing this.

look nice, What is the cost involved? Do you need to pull the engine to install it? If it work fine, woul you do it to my race car :D
