Darkside TT's gets my vote nice

Just read this news on the Times website see link http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article4454274.ece So basically it seems like the Government still have not made up their minds. We could still be hit with a big tax bill in the future if they decide to penalise owners of older "polluting" cars! Grrr. They just want to make sure they get more money in. I dont believe it is about the environment at all. Surely keeping an older car running well is better as the cost of energy involved etc in manufacturing a new car would be higher than keeping the old one runing for longer. Just think of all the transport, manufacturing etc energy and carbon used in making a car and all its components. I cant see things getting better :( or maybe its just Monday...

I could write a massive post on this subject but to add my 2p I did not believe in any of this stuff at all. To cut a long story short, the wife went back to her home country the other side of the world for a holiday saw one of these people with a gift she told him nothing, never met him before nor had any of her family or friends. He lives Iin the middle of nowhere a kind of monk. Basically he came out with loads of stuff about me and my family, all true, and the stuff he predicted all came true aswell. My wife did not want to tell me at first as it was not all good, I got it out of her in the end though. Anyway things happened as he said and when he said, this guy was quite accurate with dates too. I quickly changed my views. My opinion now, there is something in all of this, yes there are con artists etc but people with gifts can tap into somethig that is of the spirit world, I tend to go with ancestors etc sending messages and that talented people can pick up on these forces and messages. Its not a skill I would want. I imagine it could be a burden too. I have tried to justify what he had told my wife but it is beyond me how some guy the other side of the world who does not speak a word of english can describe accurately some of my family members and their existing medical conditions and say what will happen to them. Scary stuff. Dont play with this kind of thing is my aedvice, you dont know what you are getting involved with. I respect these kind of people for what they can do and am respectful enough not to mess with any of this, it may seem cool or fun but what people can tell you is not always fun. Yes some people in the UK may not tell you the bad stuff but there are different cultures in the world and others may do as its acceptable to them believing in re-incarnation etc, its not fun and I would now be presonally wary of getting involved in anything like this! This throws up so many questions abotu life, destiny, etc.

Ah well it does not look like these is anything generally agreeable for stock cars then I was just hoping it would have been a good resource for people to generally compare with.

Hi is there somewhare where this forum has listed all the stock performance figures? I am interested in the stock times 0-60 and 1/4 mile for a NA 2+2 Auto? anyone got any ideas? If we dont have details already then it would be a good reference eg NA 2+2 Manual, Auto TT 2+2 Manual, Auto NA SWB Manual, Auto TT SWB Manual, Auto NA Conv, MAN, Auto TT Conv Man, Auto. If anyone can help me out here then thanks.

You may like it in the short term but london is not even what it used to be a few years ago keep away from the dirty hole, in the end it ends up chewing most peope up and spitting them out, if you want to get in make some big cash and get out fast though then maybe its for the best. Whatever you do, do it in the best interests of you and your family for the future.

My 2p save your cash if you can, costs will rize and many will get caught out, it will be easy done, its global and a Uk problem, no more easy credit matched with increasing costs of living and general uncertainty. I predict a stock market slump in 2009 and some of the oil and resources prices will slump too, this will have a great impact as traders have been gambling on ever increasing oil and other resource prices with investments etc from other companies. Brits cash abroad will be drawn back in so expect foreign holiday propertys to start to drop too in certain areas, bargains for someone! ! Sports cars usually first to go you are starting to see more going up for sale on peoples drives etc just look around you its been happening for a while, and in my opinion this is only the start. Next 5 years anyone with cash will be in a great position and there will be opportunities but for most of us its gonna be tough. I was listerning to some key local leaders and chief executives talking away all the economic problems but I dont see any substance in their arguments. Yes the govt may be able to ride it out a bit but in the end we are just holding off the inevitable. Hang on its going to be a rough ride but it will all be ok in the end :) Be sensible with your money and enjoy life economies rise and fall and as they say the best things in life are free!!

Hi I have seen advertised turbocharger boots claimed to keep the temperatures down under the bonnet, anyone know anything about them and if they are any good for a Z consiidering how hot Z's seem to run? I have seen them advertised for skylines today, knew nothing about them beofre hand.

Dont give up whatever you do or you can kiss goodbye to getting anything. If she is found at fault then there should surely be some consideration for the time and expense that you have gone to in making this claim and the stress caused. Insurance companies in all but one of my experiences always look at how not to pay out first. If you had taken her number plate got a witness and let her drive off like she tried to she would definately have been screwed, one call to to the cops then they could have had her up for a hit and run or something like that. Im sure her employer would not look highly on such behaviour either. The point is there ars so many people that will just never admit they are in the wrong when they are and its often honest people that have to suffer. I hope you get paid out and that she gets all that is due to her, higher insurance premium and an excess payout etc. Grrr. dont take any crap mate good luck with it.

Personally I would go with a laptop with XP Pro on it although it is not the newest OS, most will come with vista now and from what we have found when we got one at work you will need a fast laptop to handle vista any good.

Been where you are m8 opted for the q97 Samsung Plasma in the end only really top end LCD's started to compare and cost is a consideration so in the end there was no choice far better quality with the Plasma. I mainly watch standard SKY and DVD's occasionally. I think there may be a Q98 model even now.

Whats r5 the name of a company that makes exhausts? Thats what im looking for, who makes them?

Can anyone recommend any company that can make me up a stainless steel exhaust, not for a Z its for my Mk1 Lexus GS300? My considerations are function and price not flash and noise.

I would recommend the Hyatt Regency at Sharm you can go there for a very similar price to the other hotels buit its on its own coastal area with private beaches and diving platform, coral straight off the platform just walk on off the beach they also run scuba from there unlike MOST other hotels where you have to go somewhere else first, I have been there 2 times last time in 2005 but it has always been good, great spa and good pools too with pizza, thai and buffet plus alacarts restaurants and good room service you can also get good sea front rooms. I got my mk1 gs300 sport converted 2 yrs ago and you can not tell the difference at all but its best to have a sound car to start with, and a top end conversion, im holding on to this car now. I was just wondered if anyone has gone for a Z conversion yet due to the ever increasing running costs, maybe someone who uses their car as a daily driver would benefit.

Im in the midlands and runing LPG on my daily driver - Lexus, plenty of availability here. But I guess everyone is not so lucky.

Just thought some people may be interested, obviously would not recommendgoing to just any LPG converter for such work!

Hi we can do standard or custom seat re-trims etc as markzx is asking for. Stock replacement or a custom job. Folks would have to drop off their rides and the guys and girls can work their magic on them, we have a few facilities with secure lock ups. If people come to us with a car a pad,a pen and an idea or even photos of what they want we can advise on the options available and possibly give you some ideas that you had never considered. Tell us what you want and we can most likely do it. At this stage I can tell that there may be some interest and I will talk to my folks more about offering a servcie out to indivifual customers.

Having had the benefit of a Z with a full custom cream leather interior I can say that I really appreciate the luxury and as a lot of other Z's are getting old and tired interiors I am sure a lot of other people would do too. This post is a bit of market research. I will explain. I work in Walsall which is world famous for its saddlery trade and manufacture of leather goods, with suppliers of the finest quality leather products in the world based here supplying royal family, various car manufacturers and designers we have the skills and talents to do anything in leather, I kid you not. Therefore I pose the question how many of you guys would be interested in full leather re-trims for your Z and at what price do you think is competative? I am asking you guys as the market often dictates so think on, we are talking about top quality jobs here too in leather not some stick on plastic. If it seems like a goer I could assemble some willing folk in the trade who could servcie your needs and register as a trader, obviously this would be an addition to our main busioness but there is some interest at our end for doing this kind of work for connoesurs who appreciate fine workmanship plus we like Z's. This is a serious offer. If its never going to get off the ground then so be it, I asked. Let me know what you think, this post is not an offer of a servcie yet, if it looks like it may be viable we will register as a trader if we can and take it from there.
