  1. God no i contemplated doing mine myself, read the service book and then promptly took my car straight to my local mechanic to have mine done. Far too fidly for my sausage fingers. I got the parts he took off returned in the boot of the car after inspecting them they probably didn't need changing but as i had no history from the previous owner other than the jap import papers / books and the fact it had been sat in his centrally heated garage for 7 years then i thought best to just change it.

  14. If you take stuff for powder coating with threads you can ask them to put cork plugs in the holes to stop the powder getting in there in the first place, if they cant be bothered to do this for you id go elsewhere !!!
  15. I have a full set and a water pump that came off mine a couple of weeks ago, they look to be in good order particularly the water pump its got no play at all and spins fine, however I changed them because I didn't have any history. My car has 54000 miles on it but I changed them just to be safe. You are welcome to them for the cost of the postage but inspect and lubricate the pulleys and make sure your happy with them before fitting.
  16. Yes get all the stuff Sir Charles said plus I replaced the tensioner pulleys as well, also replaced the stubby pipes at the side of the thermostat housing, they will probably crumble when you take em out, replacement silicone ones are only £6
