  10. On the waterless coolant question have a butchers at these two threads http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?167958-waterless-engine-coolant&highlight=waterless+coolant http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?170378-waterless-coolant&highlight=waterless+coolant The theory is that because the boiling point of the fluid is higher it eliminates the steam that forms when the heat from the engine metal transfers to the coolant ie the coolant boils producing a tiny barrier of gas between the metal and the coolant that essentially adds an insulating layer between the two, thus lowering the efficiency of heat transfer from metal to liquid. The new fluid eliminates this barrier thus allowing a more efficient heat transfer from one to the other ie gets the heat away from the metal into the coolant faster. Also because there's no water, there's no corrosion either so that has to be good & apparently there are racing teams out there using it so that's got to be good too. The science sounds good and plausible enough for me to give it a try so Im going to buy some when I take the car off the road for winter and give it a go.
  11. Im your man for this one, not only do I have my own design consultancy, I use 3D cad for a living and I also have access to a 3D printer. As mentioned before it depends on the printer parent material properties as to how robust your components are but the plastic / resin we use is pretty useful. I agree the surface finish can be an issue as the part is built in slices so leaves lines on the part but you can sand them down and spray them up. If you want I can model a clip up for you and have it printed just to see what we can achieve. The gun your thinking of I think is the one that Red Jacket Firearms on Skys Sons of Guns programme they printed a Strock and casing that screwed on around an assault rifle mechanism. They used it in the field so the plastic parts would have to be tough to withstand that. Also FYI I believe that a good number of parts in the Eurofighter and the American F22 Raptor are 3D printed !!!!!
  12. Looking forward to this and if memory serves there's a pub right at the southern end near the pleasure beach we could go there early for a get together then drive thru lights avoiding the traffic.

  21. There's just something about the way Lambo style their cars, I loved the Countach LP500S with the rear wing but before they bloated it with all the anniversary body kit rubbish. It looked fantastic the way the body dives away just before the rear wheels and then picks up with the flared wheel arches, just awesome. Their new stuff is just so cutting edge and their interiors are just the dogs dangglies. If I win the Lottery or do a bank job im having one however 1st case ill be driving it in the UK second case ill be in Mexico :w00t:.
  22. I know what you mean regarding the paint matching, I had my 76 corvette stingray painted in Lamborghini Pearl Ophelia, (diablo purple pearl) a cracking colour but after some kind doushbag scratched it my painter just could not get a good enough match from the codes so I had to respray the entire car again. 2 months later my neighbour reversed into the front wing so I needed another repair but fortunately I had my painter purchase an extra few litres of base and top coat so it painted up spot on. Its now under a tarp waiting a full body off restore job so when the zed gets put away for the winter its on with the vette. My bank manager is gonna have a fit
