It's a good place to T-bar for the boost gauge/controller yes. Not sure of local garages mate as I've only been here since the start of the year and I do all my normal servicing/work myself anyhow. I am looking for a decent bodyshop to do my bumper so I'll ask about places that might do a cam-belt change. Isn't Zen garage nearish to you? Its worth finding a performance car garage instead of the average grease monkey mondeo mechanic. I did a cambelt change on my last zed (and an engine rebuild lol) and its a reletively easy job really, but I wouldn't want to do anyone elses car other than my own as I'm no mechanic!

Balance bar is the one across the top of the engine plenum. Theres a few small hoses there that sometimes pop off.

This one was so big it doesn't sting, it picks up a big pointy stick and hits you with that! :)

Theres some big bugger hornit things knocking around our place at the moment! I don't want to find the nest in the loft. I know there's already some massive starling nests up there about 4ft across, hopefully the hornit one isn't the same size!

That certainly is low, but depends how you're driving I suppose. I get 25-30mpg on the motorway on long runs, but only 15mpg if I rag it around town. I'm running 340rwbhp TT as well. Dave

Aww! Just get a jack russel or something as well. My missus mum has loads of chickens and her jack russels keep an eye out for foxes (well that or the brothers bow and arrow!!)

Could be a vacuum leak, does it feel like its boosting properly? If not be take it easy as you could be running lean. Check all the vacuum pipes, esp around the balance bar area and the drivers side behind arch (boost gauge sender is there and it might just be dead).

Or if you are just doing checks just open your fuel cap to let the pressure out and leave it for a few mins. It still squirts if you do have an accident but only a little so just keep a rag handy in case.

We've got two Doves that live in our house! They are actually surprisingly good pets. I actually got them to soften up the missus as I was going to buy a macaw, but not sure if I will now, especially if I end up with another zed as well.
