Just picked up on this one in may....
I'm now around so will probably pop down for a gander - maybe in the Zed also! If you spot a silver one in a random car park...

What did you do to your zed today?
Today I did up the two little tow hook rings at the back of the Zed. A quick rub down to get rid of the rust, a sand with w'n'dry and then two coats of white primer. Then two coats of matching silver paint and a quick spray of lacquer. Voila! Nice tow hooks!

Z32 front shocks and springs
Hi all, Looking for a pair of front shocks and springs for a z32. Has anyone got a set sat on a breaker or shelf? Need price and delivery to Dorset please. No leaks or squeaks please also. Thanks in advance!

Help required- making the Zed comfortable.
I got the Gaz coilovers off a member on here late last year. They are height adjustable yes, and are set about halfway otherwise the front spoiler hits the local speed bumps.

Help required- making the Zed comfortable.
I am running 18's on these alloys as they are the ones that came with the car. Do you think 17's would be better since you could have a thicker tyre sidewall rather than a 40mm rubber band currently on there (and 35 on the rear)?

Help required- making the Zed comfortable.
Running 8.5 & 9.5 wide BK993's. Not sure what to do with the coilovers yet as will need to assess std vs rock hard ride! Have seen a set of std ones on ebay - are they your baz?

What's the best brake pads to use on a Twin Turbo Zed
I use pagid pads and they seem fine and reasonably good value.

I've learned something new about the road tax changes.....
I didn't realise the local DVLA offices had closed until this morning when I went to change the reg for the wife's new car. Now it all goes to Swansea as Richard says. Maybe we've all got used to one system and need to get used to another - like the RFL, but we don't always like change so it seems a pain to do.

Help required- making the Zed comfortable.
I am already fat and cannot sit on a cushion as my arse only just fits in the recaro's! On a cushion I would be all over the place! :D Maybe going back to standard Z32 springs could be an idea - anyone got any spare I can buy off them?

Help required- making the Zed comfortable.
OK - so the Zed has Gaz coilovers on rather than std suspension. This has created an even stiffer ride than the Teins I used to have and although this may be ideal for the track, just driving around is getting uncomfortable. Part of the problem is that although the rears have been adjusted to a soft setting (which makes the rear bounce), the fronts cannot be adjusted and are set on the stiffest level. So, I am after any ideas on how to make the ride more comfortable. Is it worth looking at other parts of the suspension at all? Any help appreciated. Greg

Where do I get..
OK thanks. I found these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Balance-Tube-O-Ring-Set-for-Nissan-300zx-Z32-/221231761652?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338270c8f4 I see what you mean - pricey! Any idea on their diameters anyone?

Where do I get..
Does anyone know where I can get replacement seals/gaskets for the balance bar? I have a hissing from the RH side of the end of the balance bar even with the bolts really really tight. The rubber gaskets/seals look old and are probably hard too. If any has any spare ones, or knows the size, shore hardness and spec of them that would be appreciated also. Cheers, Greg

Connecting a separate boost gauge.
So I guess I need about 2-3m of vac tubing then?

Gear knob removal - again I know!
Sounds simple. One of the next jobs then!

Gear knob removal - again I know!
Is it worth just replacing the gear lever and knob with another? Is it an easy job to swap it out? Where do I get a replacement from - a breaker I suppose? Any help appreciated!

Connecting a separate boost gauge.
Does anyone know where to thread the tubing that goes from the back of a boost gauge through to the engine? I cannot find a single hole in the rear of the engine bay. Any pointers/pics? I want to install an after-market boost gauge in the car... Cheers, Greg

*Sigh* some people on the road.....
I am finding now that some stupid driving is caused by foreigners driving on our roads - not tourists over from France/Belgium/Germany/Poland so much, more of UK registered vehicles with foreign drivers who have different rules. Like yesterday afternoon, going onto the M4, the Indian-type chap in front stopped at the bottom of the slip road in front of me. Now this would make the most patient of drivers to wonder what the f the chap is thinking, especially as there was little traffic and a huge gap to safely pull into! I did swear at him but I don't think he gave a monkeys. Those sort of drivers I stay well away from.

Gear knob removal - again I know!
Does anyone know what type of metal it is made from? A dremel/cutting saw could be a good idea..but I may prefer to replace with a short shifter kit - is this perhaps a simpler job going forward? The car is an import so who knows what it is bonded with! What started out as a simple job has turned into a mare! Ahh...this is what owning a Zed is like isn't it?!

Gear knob removal - again I know!
So, I have removed the knckered gear knob as far as I can. The leather and plastic underneath it came off easy. Still cannot get remaining metal part off. I have heated it up, twisted it in both directions until it starts to twist the actual stem, stared at it (willing it to come off) and it still will not budge. My only thought is that it has been threadlocked or superglued on. See pic. Any ideas? I have been through old threads on here and tried everything bar replacing the stem. Cheers Greg

First ride in a zed
My 5yr old son also falls asleep in the Zed. How I have no idea?!
-
Lose my licence or die in my Z??????
With my five yr old it is about cruising, driving like an old man, safe and knowledgeable that i am driving something rarer, more unique and stylish than most tin cans on the road. On me own, then it is different and I just have to avoid the red mist. I have done the rwd drift style seat of my pants losing control thing in my youth so now, practice and concentration keep me lucid and the zed in a straight line. Also the police don't like showoffs!

know how on Seats
My Zed has the recaro's in and I think they look similar to the black ones, just with blue in the middle = different to the leather. My last Zed had the two tone cream / black leather inside and I soon stopped wearing shorts in the summer to go for a drive! Never again! Anyway, why does the google translation on the link to the seat history call the black seats "W Russell". Who is this person?
