Yeah it was but im in a tough spot when it comes to insurance Im 31 but have 0 ncb due to living in London and in a reserved postcode I had to use my dad as the main policy holder to even get touched in a 1ltr fiesta when I first passed and even now if I take my dad of insurance on a 1 ltr is like 2 grand. I don't no how to get around it I mean ive never had a crash or ding in 8 years driving and I work as a driver and again no dings or hit at all. Im a safe driver but it seems the insurance comps really don't give a f. lol

Hey guys after being layed up in hospital for a while im better and back but now im looking for a bloody zed again. Have thought about other cars but the zed is just to good lol anyways im looking to spend about a grand on a car as im not made of it atm since im moving but if anyone can help me out that would be great. Ideally like a tt but for that money id settle for a running n/a. Ideally a 90 - 91 car as the insurance kills me other wise... thanks again

Ty mattin I will give that a go. I also removed the rad to find its pretty rotten what do I need to keep of it to put on a new one I took it out with most of the connections bar the pipes on ie the brass bits at the bottom and the black surrounds

seems i need a puller tool wich i dont have agh the joys is there any other way of getting that pully off other then with a puller tool or am i screwed untill i can get one

So today i went out to do some work on my zed with the idea being i wanted the rad out along with the air box as mines broke and a few other bits and bobs, Air box was out within a few mins but the rad took me a fair while since all the screws on the jub clips were worn down and man it was hard work any way 2 hours and 7 stitches later the rad is out and its just rotten so i need a new one which leads me onto my next question How do i remove the viscous fan as i cant get any wrench in there wich sucks lol and once thats out of the way does anyone have any really good advice regarding changing the water pump and thermostat. I would like some real in depth help if possible as this engine bay is fighting me all the way i wanna try make it abit easier. I can see the water pump i think if its behind the viscous fan and the pully thats there if im right. Also i couldent seem to locate the tensioner for the alt belt to tighten it again any pics of something would be helpfull. Anyways so im now missing the tip of my index finger thanks to my new love and have 7 stitches holding it back on but no pain no gain i suppose.

Well...you win some, you lose some. I took a gamble on this old Datsun and sadly it's in worse shape than the one I'm trying to repair. I'm now giving up an they're both going! This 1991 UK 300ZX TT has been off the road almost 5 years. It failed its MOT in 2008 on a rusty sill. The work was carried out, customer subsequently couldn't afford to pay and never collected the car. Debt was eventually settled with the car and V5 handed over. Unfortunately for all this time the car was sat outside, hence the condition it's in now. I got it towed to my yard and it started up fine and moved under its own power. There's a misfire at idle but all 6 cylinders are working if encouraged with the throttle. Main problem is she's overheating. The waterpump drive belt sounds awful so the pump could be failing. The viscous fan doesn't cut in at full power either. There's no oil in the water to suggest headgasket. The water it's dumping is usually cold so may even be a clogged up radiator or hose. I've not let it overheat in spectacular fashion - its' been turned off as the hissing starts. I was going to take it for an MOT but since it won't make it, I've not driven beyond my yard. I'm unsure what the gearbox, turbos or brakes are like. It hesitates when pulling away but all Zeds do when they've not been exercised. It needs a major service and clean up. There's no smoke billowing from the back and turbo gauge suggests they're spooling up OK. Brakes are not seized. Paint is faded/lacquer peel all over. Bonnet/wings/bumper/rear panel especially. It's worse than the photos suggest. Spoiler has gone - common on Zeds! I made the very foolish mistake of pulling this Zed out of hibernation while covered in snow. It wasn't until the following morning I saw how much lacquer had come off. Eeek. In terms of rust it doesn't look too bad underneath from what I can see. Sills are good as they were repaired properly. The common areas of weakness seem to be OK. Its' done 106,860 miles, which looks plausible. The only paperwork present is the V5. Good things...good things...all the tyres have 6mm tread, dateless plate, UK spec, ABS, power steering, targa tops with blinds and it's a complete car! Interior is a little grubby but tidy. Being a UK model its' got full black leather. There's no stereo however all speakers and wiring are present. Ideal project or donor car perhaps? Drop me a message or James on 07933 641790. You'll need a trailer to take her home - she won't drive. Car is in Eastbourne, East Sussex. There is a recovery company where I store the vehicle who could deliver. ARS Recovery - first result in Google. Ask them for a quote, not me! this is what the ebay add said regarding my zed can anyone make any use of the info as to why it may be overheating? as i said before it has not with me yet but ive not been able to get it under load due to it not having any rent on it You bid to buy. If you're unsure of anything come and take a look at it or ask me. Sold as seen obviously - spares/repairs. Contact in 24 hours or I second-chance-offer.

engine bay
Hey guys most of you woulda seen the mess that is my engine bay by now but if not heres a reminder Any advice on what i can do to clean it up abit ie clean it etc. Im scared to jet wash it due to the electrics in there and the fact i could flood the engine i have brought some engine degreaser but im looking for other ways to get it cleaner ie what pipes i could buy etc - i do have a dremel with wire brush attachments

What did you do to your zed today?
it rained all day so no chance of doing anything although i did get my new filters in the post so hoping i can get them on tommoz and the bumper rad oil cooler and all that off for when my water pump and stat arrive next week.

not a zx q but some info or help
yeah the c3 did come with a man and auto option and im preety sure bar a few electrical workarounds you can switch out a tip tronic for a normal man or auto box but you would need to have some decent woring knowledge as the tronic is wired into the harness from what i remember other then that and a quick ecu change you should be ok

Guys one other question i know i need to sort this engine bay out but in im at a loss as to what is or are the best parts to be getting and were to find it all - id like to replace all the connectors etc or at least some of them and well what else you reckon i could do to bring this bay up abit as its still abit of a mess even though i spent a day getting all the grease and oil of it.

Looking for a 300zx tt 450+bhp
All in all that's a lot of spec to find on an already really rare car I went the lwb route and love my zed although she needs a ton of work I've got 6 grand to blow on her so now it's all about panning
