  1. Imagine Lee Dent and Jimmer both working under one roof... what a place that'd be!! :thumbup1:
  2. When I bought my SWB, it had a wonderful vibration between about 40mph and 55mph... you could feel and hear it drumming through the cabin at those speeds! It disappeared once everything had warmed up a little, bit it was still a PITA when the car was cold. Kev (Harby300) bought a Z1 solid prop secondhand for his car, only to find out it was too short. So, as it was for SWB manual TT, I said I'd buy it off him. Jimmer fitted it for me and the car drives so much better now. The vibration is gone completely, hot or cold! Definitely a very worthwhile modification in my opinion. :thumbup1:
  3. I can't say I'm overly bothered that I don't get the "honour" of trimming your interior panels, Dan. What I am bothered about is that you didn't have the courtesy to tell me privately that you'd decided to go elsewhere. Instead, you "told" me publicly. I simply responded publicly. I don't appreciate your PMs or your childish attempts at intimidation, nor your thinly-veiled threats about causing me pain. Honestly, all this simply because I posted in your build thread.....
  4. Are you going to insult me via PM some more, Dan? Maybe try and order me to do things...? You can call me all the names you like. Please, go right ahead....
  5. Aw, Dan! Just because I haven't done what you ordered me to do via PM just now, you're going to start calling me names in public?
  6. I can't believe I've just clicked "Like" for one of Ali's posts...!! I feel sooo dirty now...
  7. One thing I will say about "the Zed scene" here in the UK is that it's incredibly fractured, sadly. I personally don't understand why this is, but I know that there are rifts that will likely never be healed. Which is incredibly sad. Comparitively speaking, there are very few of these cars left in the UK. I'm forever getting people saying to me "You don't see many of those now, do you?" and they're absolutely right. Even the members who are local to me hardly ever get together and do anything! So really, we should all be getting along and enjoying these cars and our love for them. It shouldn't really matter whether someone is an OEM person or someone who wants to mod the hell out of their Zed; that's each person prerogative. Yes, I prefer my Zeds to be more towards the stock end of the spectrum, and there are some modifications on here that I find absolutely hilarious (Pebkau, I'm looking at your roof-scoop! ), but so what? No matter what marque of car it is, there is always someone who bolts loads of fibreglass to it and thinks it's the mutt's nuts! Again, their choice and, if nothing else, us stock-lovers can take comfort in the fact that, in our own minds at least, our car will always look nicer and more tasteful then theirs. ;) But I digress, and often in very nice colours! Getting a large amount of Zed owners in one place at one time would always be a difficult undertaking, partly due to how spread out we are around the country and partly due to the fact that there are a fair few members whose cars aren't actually on the road for one reason or another! I thought we had a decent turn-out at JAE last year and I personally thought it was great to see so many Zeds in the same place. Coventry this year threatens to be an even better turnout, although probably not on the scale of the 25th anniversary. The fact of the matter is that, sadly, we'll never be a united community and so we'll never really see a representational cross-section of the UK's Zeds in the same place. But if we have someone (Paul, for example) who wants to try and makes these sort of things happen, then I say let him do so. We're here for one reason only: because we love these cars. Let's try and get out there and get the rest of the UK to love 'em as well!
  8. I'd be interested in this, even though it's a serious hike for me. I said I wanted to try and do more shows this year and I meant it!
  9. I know, Gaz. Whilst I'm not hugely familiar with VS's stint as NEO, I think Lexx is a sad loss to the role but I can perfectly understand why he needed to step down. Personally, I think an NEO should really want to try and get a Z32 presence at as many shows (especially big ones) as possible - it's the single best way to generate awareness and interest in these cars. Facebook may have it's uses but the "general public" won't see the Zed-related posts unless they're friends with the OP or in one of the groups. Simply by what he's typed recently, Paul's shown that he wants to get these cars out there and into the public eye. Which is half the battle. :) I think it's worth giving him the chance (if he wants it, of course)... it's certainly better than not having one at all. :thumbup1:
  10. Considering how passionate he is about this subject, I suggest making Paul the NEO for the club. :thumbup1: We need one. Vodkashots has dropped off the face of the Earth now, and Lexx just doesn't really have the time due to work and family commitments. So Paul: 1 vote from me. :)
  11. Looks shit. What a waste! :thumbup1:
  12. Considering my business and how many of these seats I've pulled apart over the years, I definitely know. :)
  13. Wrong. The facing panels of the seats were all genuine leather, but a lot of the backs and sides were synthetic leather.
  14. It was real leather... it just wasn't particularly good quality, that's all.
  15. Au contraire... It'll be early March before I can get everything done for you, Dan - busy as hell up to that point. What colour stitching do you want on things...? ok then will send em end of the month then all back stitch Whilst I'm well aware that March has been and gone, I was under the assumption that you'd still be sending everything up at some point as previously discussed and agreed.
  16. Thanks for letting me know you'd changed your mind there...
  17. Is there just me that thinks it looks a little... tatty...? The paint finish looks super-flat, the lower edge of the front bumper is chipped and scuffed... just looks unloved to my eyes!
  18. Gumtree link I appreciate that the mileage is low, but do we think £7.5k is a realistic price....?
  19. Tag along with ExtremeBHP or a club like that, mate. :thumbup1:
  20. There won't be a club presence there this year, Paul. The Coventry meet is our "big one" this year.
  21. At the risk of throwing fuel around, he's a Trader here for exactly the same reason I am: because he's paid for that privilege. That doesn't make him (or me) immune to issues or unhappy customers, Ali.
  22. So the well-documented restrictions with the intake pipework (T-piece and small piping diameter) aren't actually an issue at all? And increasing the diameter and removing the T-piece actually create problems, rather then solving them?
  23. My personal opinion is that there's waaay too much blue in there already. If the exterior is a loud or bright colour, then the interior should be more muted. Conversely, if the exterior's muted (like mine, for example) then the cabin can handle some colour. And no, I'm not just saying this to justify my red interior! [/my2cents]
