  1. looks like something I'll let Jeff sort out. I'm wondering if its a faulty cat sensor
  2. Basically the catalytic converter warning light came on just for a few seconds whilst driving the motorway earlier. from a quick research I assume it could be a faulty o2 sensor? dumping unburnt fuel down the exhaust the light is off now and hasn't came back on but I have to assume it will come back eventually. question is if it were to come down to replacing the O2 sensors, how difficult is this job? also what else could cause the warning light to come on? when the light was on I did feel a minor difference in acceleration, but nothing major. Thanks Sascha
  3. I can't see why not
  4. Just a quick help needed, I just need to know the stock Z32 wheel stud length if someone knows doesn't have to be the full length from behind the hub, just the length of the exposed/external part of the stud on which the wheel is mounted, will save me pulling the car out and jacking it up etc Thanks :)
  5. Welcome to the club, there is one here in the classified section, this is pretty close to your required spec http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?167598-Z32-SWB-TT-Manual-JDM
  6. or you can use this http://www.rhdjapan.com/tomei-hicas-lock-14034 this will lock the HICAS and will turn the system off electronically, including the light
  7. I can't say about Bride's cause mine are Recaro my Recaro side mounts lined up perfectly on top of the Recaro base frame. you will need sidemounts regardless if they fit on top of the base mount or not, so might aswell get the Bride side mounts and see if it works. if they don't work then you need a bracket making which will act as an adapter and will sandwich between the side mounts and the base mount... only problem with that is they might raise the seat quite high, but I think Bride base frames are very low anyway so might be ok.
  8. I fitted Recaro SPG in my Z32 which is a fixed bucket, the seat is bolted to the side mounts and side mounts are bolted to the base frame/rails however my base frame/rails are by Recaro and are Z32 specific model
  9. Thats defo been done for heel-and-toe, to be exact it's been done so you can use the ball of your foot for braking and other side of your foot for bliping the accelerator accelerator has been bent so it lines up with the modified/bent brake pedal diagonally I've seen it before, usually done by drivers with small feet... i.e Japanese people are quite little, so would explain this being done before car came into the country
  10. Well there has been sorta new development, started the car up and had a look and the injector rail line DOES appear to be leaking :( couldn't get the best view but here's the diagram to give you guys an idea Point-1 appears clearly wet, hose looks wet too, now confusing part is Point-2, I am not 100% sure but I think I may saw a drip from Point-2 but not sure, it could be that fuel from Point-1 travelled to the end of Point-2 and dripped. 11. Sounds like a good trick Brian, now lets hope the screwdriver will reach there, as Vodkashots mentioned about jamming the throttle open might create some room. I would love to see the Z32's manufacturing process like that discovery show "How Its Made"... shocking how they managed to cramp so much in so little space, but I'm sure there is worse out there
  12. I didn't wedge the throttle open, I'll try it if I notice it leaking, at the minute it seems ok
  13. Vodkashots. I have no idea how you managed to change that hose without removing the plenum lol, I can't get a screwdriver in there to tighten the clips let alone remove and put a new one on, I wonder if you have any fingers left at all lol
  14. I have removed the plenum cover to keep an eye on that pipe, this will be hard cause I barely drive the car :/ also is it possible to remove the throttle linkage and cable? because the pipe sits right under it, if its possible to remove that then there is no need to remove plenum
  15. I have replaced the pipe by the filter, Thanks Brian for the pipe now in regards to the pipe between the injector rails, it doesn't seem like it's leaking but I could smell fuel from that area, but tbh I had fuel all over me, I ran the car for a bit keeping an eye on that area and seems fine. what I did find was quite a few of the clips on other section of the fuel lines weren't very tight, is that normal?, when I replaced the filter side pipe I gave the clip a good tightening, I found the other clips weren't as tight... wondering if its cold causing contraction in the rubber, then again the car is garaged, but the garage don't have heating so does get cold in there I'd imagine.
  16. unfortunately I stopped smoking 6 months ago so now I have rely on sheer will and I doubt coffee on it's own will suffice lol, I recieved the pipe today mate, much appreciated, will give it a go fitting it tomorrow :) Sascha
  17. Thanks Brian, much appreciated will let you know how I get on.... fingers crossed that I don't find a leak between the injector rails.
  18. Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it :) Znut really appreciate your help, PM on the way! Thanks Sascha
  19. I've heard about the hose between injector rails, I've not checked it but hopefully it wont need replacing because I believe you need to remove the plenum for it and I'm not doing that in the winter lol in regards to current leak, do I need a specific fuel hose? or does it has to be one from Nissan? to de-pressurise the fuel lines before changing the rubber line, I was thinking loosen the fuel cap and start the car and remove the fuel pump fuse/relay and wait for the car to cut out, would this method be ok? sorry for the newbie questions, I rather do it right the first time than end up creating more complex problems lol
  20. Easy guys, started my car earlier today, smelt a bit of fuel inside the cab, I thought I inspect it and discovered a tiny leak, just wondering whats the best way of sorting it out is? the metal line seems fine, and rubber seems ok and doesn't look deteriorated and clamp is tight too yet the fuel was dripping. 21. Thanks Pete and Yowser Yeah I was wondering that the floor wouldn't be strong enough to mount seats Pete I'm in no rush so give me a shout with an update, sooner the better, I can purchase some Recaro side mounts, which can be bolted on top of custom sliders which I'd imagine you're working with?
  22. they scan the barcode of the V5(if it has one) and it bring the details up on the system, or just enter your car details on their database your logbook doesn't show all the info, their computer database will have all the details when it was registered and what the manufacturing date it is, hiding that new owner slip from them won't do anything only way an old car can get registered as a newer car is if the shell of the car was never assigned a VIN... which will almost never happen I only remember one time there was a MK1 Golf shell for sale which was unregistered and was not assigned a VIN, I only heard rumours it was then registered as a kit car or what not and assigned a 2009 plate once it was made roadworthy and went through the stringent IVA test by VOSA
  23. Easy guys, I have a pair of Recaros waiting to go into the Z, but just trying to work out the best of doing this the driver side is a Recaro SPG which is a fixed bucket and will require side mounts, and passenger side is a Recaro Speed Recliner. in regards to driver side SPG seat, I'd imagine it needs to be bolted straight to the floor which I kinda dont wanna do... whats the best way to get these both seats into the car?
