hi all, out of curiosity, does anyone know the whereabouts of my old red zed? it was written off, J3xxUBM... it had 99 spec rear lights, spoiler, front bumper, nismo bushes, r33 brembos, hids, etc.... cheers!

nsx no doubt. and the 3.2 pop up light version. zeds are cool but you need to experience something new, something ayrton senna honed!

absolute *****x, most tamils in srilanka live in colombo and the surrounding areas. They have absolutely no problem living in colombo. maybe these fools need to read up what genocide means and then see whether that is happening in SL. check your subframe bushes too. they are oil filled and if they are leaking you should replace them.

oh and JDMs are available in a base spec too with no leather or brembos or vdc, watch out those are really crap! they are identified with 17"alloys and you can see whether they have gold brembo calipers or not. also the version t with leather but without brembos and VDC i would personally steer clear of (i like the brembos!) tiptronics are also a bit gay. version s, and st are the ones to go for if an import!

imports do have leather seats (version T) or brembos with VDC (version S) or both, Version ST which makes them 'similar' to the uk GT version. its a 2002 model so has the early cheapo plastics on the dash, and the exhaust note on the JDM 02 model isnt as nice as the uk car. suspension damping is a bit different too. early 280bhp uk GT spec cars are now around 10k, so a 2002 version ST JDM car should be worth about 8k.

true... my old zed was exceptional, part of why i didnt get another one is because 1) i couldnt find any as nice as mine was, 2) i couldnt be assed to turn a nearly nice zed into a really nice zed! its also a kind of been there done that with the zx. i got this car so cheap that i can easily sell it on if i need to and not really lose anything. its also in really good condition for what it is! you should take a look some time! Mark, my car has the later v8 4.4 M62 engine and 5 speed tiptronic box, i have been lead to understand that they are the good auto box... just need to do a fluid change on it!

lol Rob you know i love the 99-spec! there was a short clip of clarkson overtaking a white 99-spec zed in the gtr last sunday, it looked great!

thanks for the comments guys; i looked at many cars beforehand and just couldnt figure out what to get... this car kind of just came along and because i knew it was a good car, i just had to have it. i think i'm just a fan of the early nineties sports cars generally, i would have loved to have gotten an NSX but they are still pretty expensive! the only thing it needs is a new exhaust and AC compressor... and i'm finding out just how expensive bimmer parts are! lol i think a custom exhaust is the way forward, all off the shelf ones are too expensive. does anyone recommend anywhere in london to do this? also what good BMW forums would you guys recommend? lol or are they all full of ponses!?! darren

Hi guys, After having written off my zed a year ago, I have finally bought another car... a '96 BMW 840ci 4.4 v8!! the condition is excellent and only 4 years ago, the 1st owner spent 15k on respray, retrim and replenishing the entire electrically adjustable suspension system purely because he didnt know what to replace it with so thought he'd make it like brand new again! lol Also I know the last owner well who knows the 1st owner so the history is all legit. It drives great and the sports mode suspension is pretty good fwiw. Heres some pics!

i'm sure the original 300zx owners were ****s too... cmon the zx was sooo much more expensive than what the 350z is today and was so much better and modern than the z31 before it... (not that the 350z is any better than the 300zx mind you!!)

its a 98 car but pre 98-2001 spec, hence the old spoiler.

the rays are 8" front, 8.5" rear, like the UK z32 stock wheels.

not true, mines have exhausts, ecus suspension for the gtr. on the gtr.co.uk site you will see pics of people who have changed the wheels too... but this is a rare case where the standard wheels look best imho
