Auto Z Twin turbo - Acceleration Improvement
what do you need to do to abuse it?

Manual Conversion - advice please :)
had mine converted at zedworld to a manual and it was the best thing i ever did on it  jeff did a full conversion and IIRC it cost about £1500 (that included parts which i got from AndyZ and an RPS street clutch from Smithys). i do think an auto is faster than the manual when moving but slower in first gear/initial pullaway.......although it could be i didnt quite have the hang of doing a "fast pullaway" in an auto???

Auto Z Twin turbo - Acceleration Improvement
my old zed started off as an auto and to be honest i wasnt that impressed with first gear as it seemed to take a bit to get going.........but once moving it was a whole new ball game so to speak  i have somewhere the nissan brochure for the 300zx and they state the 0-60 time of only being 7.2secs on the auto TT, with the manual being 5.6secs, although mine did not seem that slow  the 300zx is quite a big lump to be moving so there are other cars that are quicker 0-60 but as mentioned 40-175mph it REALLY comes into its own  i did an auto to manual conversion which for me made alot of difference in the kind of pullaways you could get, they seemed faster. but at speed it wasnt as fast as the auto (although IMO more fun). FIRST THING do the auto oil cooler!!! mine as an auto went bang on more than one occassion and as such im still paying for it on my credit card :headvswal all being said the auto TT IMO is still an awesome piece of kit, that made me smile and alot of other car drivers hang their head in shame as i "flew" past them!!!

- warning for nitrous users !! lol
surprisingly he doesnt sound too upset??? i would of been howling like a baby if that was my motor!- FAO all bikers
thanks for the emails mate, but im getting this zx9r now as i think it will be better (not neccessarily good) for my wife to ride 2 up. must say its a very nice bike though, and IMO the best graphics they did for the blade. good luck with the sale! thanks, gaz!- peugeot to ferrari!!
would never do it myself (rather buy a zed and spend the money on that), but i think it looks pretty good IMO .- Which Motorbike
did my cbt and then on my first lesson with a "big bike" i managed to put it on the deck before i even got it off the stand :o my instructor (who was a local copper) said "dont worry they have been down more times than a whores knickers". still felt a total muppett!!!!- Which Motorbike
my first bike was a suzuki rf600. it was cheap to insure, was quick enough for a starter, and i quite like the looks although they arent to everyones liking. i would say they were suzukis version of the honda cbr600......but not quite as good (only just short of the mark though). you can easily buy a half decent one for 1500ish. my idea was i didnt want to do what all my mates had done and that was buy a brand new gsxr600/cbr600, thrash the living day lights out of it, no doubt drop it at some point, and then end up losing £££££££££s when i came to sell it. just got a zx9r ninja which i cant wait to use!!!- Will it fit or wont it
had mine converted by zedworld. they charged £500 to do it and i supplied the parts. cost me about £1500 with an rps clutch supplied from smithy and a short shifter off fleabay. best thing i did.........shame its not me enjoying it now :( (tonyt1965 has it)- got a ZX
alright im a bit thick :slap: thought you may of meant "be carefull cos they are crap"! :o thanks for the advice anyway though mate!- got a ZX
carefull for what reason?- got a ZX
not the 4 wheeled one that i want though........just got a zx9r, 1999 c2 model! any thoughts/advice on these anyone?- FAO all bikers
really love these, but i thought i was a bit on the low side to get one that would be half decent (only spent 2k on this zx9r). hopefully next year and a grand or so more i will be able to get one!- FAO all bikers
glad ive read your post as i just got a zx9r ninja!!! got a 1999 t reg "c2" model. was damged but now repaired and got it for 2k which i thought is ok..........roll on the summer! thanks for all the replies!- FAO all bikers
see this is the same as the reviews i read. some of you say its an alright bike.....then some hate it. what do i do???? :headvswal- FAO all bikers
so does the tl1000s handle better than the tl1000r model? kinda thought there wouldnt be that much in it? as much as i do like the gsxr, i reckon for my money im gunna get a better tl than the gsxr.- FAO all bikers
quick reply bud! ive seen a tl1000s on a 2000 v plate with 21K for £2150 . its had the rear suspension changed which should improve it, and has got aftermarket cans. hpi clear and FSH. guys in a hurry to sell as hes moving. i know it wont handle as good as the r6, but then im not i sure want a full race rep bike (thats why im considering a gsxr 750  ). just thought the tl1000s would be better than your race bikes for taking my wife out on the back???- The Zed That Never Was..I'm Mortified
good man! :D- FAO all bikers
looking at getting another bike for the summer (cos i cant afford another zed yet :( ), and cant decide what to go for. got a budget of about 2.5k, so ive narrowed it down to the suzuki tl1000s or the tl1000r model or the gsxr750, with the tl1000s being my number 1 choice.....just. just wanted to know if any of you guys got any experience about these bikes? ive read of people having probs with the handling and "tank slappers" on the tl1000s and then another review will tell you this is a load of crap!!! also ive never had a v-twin, so are these better or not? thanks in advance - gaz!- The Zed That Never Was..I'm Mortified
got my zed from a trader and found out very soon it wasnt fit for the road at the time of sale. contacted trading standards who were very helpful, and to cut a long story short i got back all my expenses. you do need to send him letters stating your problems, give him the chance to repair/sort it, but if no joy begin with small claims. IIRC its £80 initially to "present" the case then a further £100 to recive a court date if the "defendant" wants to go to court. my car was "sold as seen", which apparently a trader by law is not allowed to do this as they are attempting to restrict your rights as a buyer. the chances are this guy knows this, but knows that most people dont know this (if this makes sense), so nine times out of ten he will use this as a means of escape from any problems the buyer may have. my advice is to deffinitly ring the trading standars who should be able to help you alot. hope you sort it bud - gaz.- Car price guides - fekking rubbish??
ive never gone off the price guides in these books, cos nine times out of ten they are usually way off.......IMO of course! i look through the autotrader and see how much similar cars are going for and then base my price on that. - warning for nitrous users !! lol
