as above. thanks for all the help and advice given from ones on here. definatly the best £20 ive spent (so all you registered users cough up ;) ). ive been through alot of good and bad times with the zed over the past 3 yrs, and TBH it was alot harder parting with it than what i thought it would be :( but sadly needs must so she had to go. she has been bought by a registered member on here, tonyt1965. so hope you enjoy it mate! i'll still be around on here as im hoping that one day i can afford another.......untill then i'll have to make do with my powerfull 1.4i vauxhall combo :o thanks again guys, gaz300zx!

"flash" car cleaning kit
basically i "think" this is a mini version of what i use/make to clean windows (gone are the days of a ladder and bucket). it uses whats called a mixed bed resin. it removes the parts from water that basically leaves the spots when it dries. if you were to take a million "parts" of water, roughly 200-300 of those parts wouldnt be water, they would be made up of chlorine, lime, etc. so this resin removes those parts leaving behind "de-ionised" water or totally pure water (are you bored yet......how sad am i :o ???). for a long term cheaper method the best thing to do is buy a bag of "mixed bed resin" from ebay for about £80 plus a "10inch resin cartridge" for about a tenner, so total price of about a £100. i know this sounds dear but this would easily outlast 5 of your flash spray guns thus working out cheaper! :D plus you could split/share a bag of it between however many people you wanted. it would take about ten minutes to set this up. simply fill the cartridge with the resin and then connect it with 2 hoselocks to your tap and hose....job done! i use this for cleaning my zed (which gets sold tommorrow  ) and it dries without a single mark or spot. simply clean and then rinse with the pure water and then leave to dry on its own, so you save all that time of having to leather your car off to dry. sounds a bit complicated and possibly hard to do but it isnt really and is deffo worth it!

Legal Action
just from my experience, i got my zed from a garage who sold this car as a working car, no problems etc. however after having it a few days things went wrong ie: headgasket, gearbox packed up, propshaft was nackered (had been told this was a worn tyre....i know im an idiot for believing him) just to name a few! after talking to trading standards they told me that as the car was sold as a roadworthy car that it had to be in this condition, roadworthy. i kept my autotrader ad showing that the car was an "excellant example". i did eventually get the money for the repairs but it did take a while. just not sure what the take is on a private sale. hope you get it sorted though mate!

anyone got any painful stories
heres my story............ the auto gearbox decided to pack up on my zed, as they have a habit of doing! so i decided enuff is enuff and went for a manual conversion. i managed to get a conversion kit from andyz. so i drove to his workplace to pick it up. now i wanted to lift the gearbox out of the back of my combo van into the boot of the zed, as it was off to zedworld to get the work done. however my wife was concerned that it was too heavy for me and that i should get someone to help.........but like the typical man i wanted to show her that i was hard enuff to do it all on my own! on doing so i "rested" one end of the gearbox on my left index finger and on doing so cut through my finger and also my tendan. this resulted in almost 3 months off work, and as im self employed this wasnt good. anyway, fingers good again and so is the zed! :hyper:

Need A Job
window cleaner.....thats what i do. choose your own hours and choose your own wages ie: i only earn £40 per week ;) . on a serious note, ive done it for about 5 years now and TBH i wouldnt ever want to work for someone again. there are times it does your head in but then not many find the perfect job. so buy some ladders @ £100 a squegee £10 a bucket £5 and a few clothes and your away! :D

After market gear knobs and steering wheels
got one of the ebay short shifters. managed to get it for only £30 :hyper: . IMO they look and work good. when i had the manual conversion done by zedworld they thought it was a decent quality shifter for a good price.........imagine, you can actually get some things cheap for the zed!

petrol pipe locations?
have fitted a smithys braided petrol pipe kit to my zed, and tightened the remaining jubilee clips i could find to help reduce the dreaded petrol fumes. it did help alot, but now the cold weather is here again im starting to smell it just on start up when cold. ive gone round re-tightening the ones i could see but im sure im missing some. my question is: can anyone possibly show by a picture where all the pipes are that need tightening? thanks in advance!

finally a goose honk fix !!
Ok hope you still with me on this, so by fitting solenoids in the vaccum lines that are operated by a throttle switch the recircs will only operate when the throttle is absolutely shut! and this kills the problem once and for all. its too late for me to understand this.........and about 2 pints too many! :D

FFS! Look at the price
thing is with all these cheap zeds about its hard to get a decent price for a good one. been trying to sell mine and no one wants it  (unless they can pay £2000!!!) hoping the price of them may rise a bit at the start of summer?

Short shift gearsticks

im paying £367 with nortons, it isnt garaged although parked on driveway. im 27 got 3 points and 5 years NCB. although your NCB doesnt apparently make any different to your policy so they told me  i do live in scarborough though so insurance shouldnt be too bad anyway. but as for east london............... :nelson: hows your motor going now anyway badger?

Please convince me to forget about a 300zx
if you can afford to insure a TT then i would say try to get one of these. (try norton 0121 246 6060, got mine on classic @ 5k miles per year, cost £367 comp) you do get used to the power, and as long as your not a total muppet you shouldnt have any problems ie: putting it sideways into someones front lawn etc! ;) as someone else said you do eventually get used to the 300 bhps and then you want more :D . IMO a car this good looking has to have the 300 horses to go with it!
