  1. Welcome to the club bud, and don't worry about not having turbos, you will have just as much fun.
  2. Sometimes it is necessary to cage a dog, but this is only the last resort, and IMO should not be used as a standard. Retrievers are not known to cause a lot of damage, generally they are like babies, so when they start to teeth (and yes they do, but not in the way we do) they chew. Give them an alternative and I also found that a small coating of pepper on their favourite bit of wall/chair etc, tends to put them off.
  3. Buy one from a recognised breeder. Our Retriever died recently at 13, which is a good age for them. Make sure they are KC registered, and that you can see their parents, and the hip and eye score. They are large dogs, with an excellent temprement, but if you get a badly bred one (puppy farm for instance), you are in for high vet bills and a grumpy or moody dog/bitch. Training is reasonably simple as they have a good nature, but remember, praise good behaviour and ignore bad. Also remember that the pup needs to know it's place. You and your missus are the pack leaders. I would suggest that when you do come to pick a pup look at their colour, which IMO should be a ginger, their jaws (the front teeth should meet when the mouth is closed) as some are known for overbite but as long as you don't intend to show or breed, a slight overbite is not too bad and their eyes. Good luck with your search and take your time to choose wisely. Colin
  4. I was thinking the same thing Andy. Either big beetles or small cars  I'm led to believe that not much has changed in the last 15 years, but the opportunities it presents are brilliant. A chance to see a part of the world that I wouldn't normally get to and the extra pay will come in handy!
  5. Well, some of you know that I am in the forces and I have just been told that I am moving again. This would be my third move in just over 2 years, but I am very happy about this one. I'm off to Belize for 2 years :hyper: And I'm off in June. I can't wait to spend 2 years in the carribean. Only one downside is that the Zed has to go :( . I will be posting a for sale ad soon, but in the mean time - bring on the rum, sand and sun :D Colin
  6. I've noticed this at times too, but find it is because I use the back arrow too often. Every now and then I refresh and it seems to work (I'm not an IT guru so I just push buttons and hit computer!)
  7. I used the hair dryer and it took most of the film off. There was still some residue for which I nicked the wife's nail polish remover. Worked a treat and no damage.
  8. The back bumper could do with a bit of rounding out, but I quite like it. Dare to be different, that's what I say.
  9. Mine was my nickname from years ago and it has stuck (that's what I get from knowing my wife since I was 8).
  10. Did mine at the weekend and an easy job to do (even for me!). It's exactly as Dave discribes it. I don't have the plasticy things so cut the panel and re-trimmed it at the same time. Although not as professional as Dave's, it still looks good. Colin
  11. Get the police and the phone company involved bud. If you have the number they can do something about it. Even if he denies it, his phone records will show that he has been calling your number at stupid hours. Hope it gets resolved. Colin
  12. I would say that they are about a grand too much even with the warranty, it's a theme they have amongst most of the cars they sell also.
  13. Have a look at this.. Here Hope it helps.
  14. Doesn't look like it has changed yet although I think it will get through the back door. Another money spinning idea by our wonderful government. Have a look Here
  15. I'm lucky, I can pick up a healthy pension in just over a year if I want. God bless the forces!
  16. I think that the pension/retirement age has already been changed. Depending on your date of birth it could be up to 68 now. Do a google search on pensions or retirement and you should find something. I know that with my year of birth 1967, I am expected to work until I am 67 before I can draw my state pension. The way I feel right now, I don't think that I will make it to 67!!!
  17. LOL @ Carl. Anything to stop it running around the car clucking....
  18. Had a quick look through your rides. Quite like your car with that kit on, looks good.
  19. Lymon, Where about in Holland. I'll be coming back to the UK in Feb although not sure of exact dates yet (poss second week) and happy to do a bit of driving about to help a fellow zedder in need (won't be too far from Southampton Tony). If I can help at all give me a shout. Colin
  20. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=84516&highlight=debt This one possibly?
  21. Look for the vanishing point in the road ahead - it gives you an idea of how sharp a bend might be. When coming to a bend that is sharper than you thought DO NOT roll off the throttle or brake as it stands the bike up. Gently ease the throttle and lean slightly more. Most peoples capabilities are far less than that of the bike.
  22. Don't agree with that one StellaZ. Sometimes it is necessary to move around to get a better view and also to give oncoming drivers a better view of you. As tought to me by both police and IAM.
  23. Do a bikini wax and I'll sponsor you  It would be worth a few quid just to hear the screams from here!
