I don't think that salty vapours would be a problem Andy. If you boil sea water it will give off pure water vapour and leave the salt residue in the container. The salt should only absorb the moisture - it shouldn't give any off IMHO.. Should be ok. Not sure if you could use rice in the car, depends how much you've got on the outside I guess ;) Steve :)

You will need the series 2 PTU wiring harness. The series 1 connectors are different to the series 2 :( Steve :)
