They are great little cars for charging around in! That's a good tip bout the circuit board. Hadn't heard that and I will look. Was maybe hoping I might get gordons to do it for free to get me off their back but would probably do a better job myself!! Sure I saw some 'how to' pics on the fiesta forum

As for the warranty, yes I read it and it is pretty comprehensive. Obviously if the diff was actually broken it would have been covered. As for the heater, several parts are covered but not the heater control valve which regularly breaks! And I would never have taken a 10 year old fiesta to a main dealer if it didn't have a warranty. I actually assumed it was the thrust bearing that would have been covered. That is why I was annoyed at the bill for diagnosing the gearbox problem. Without the warranty I would have just taken it straight to the gearbox place. They would have found the fault themselves and I would have saved a lot of cash so this warranty has cost me loads!!

Ok. Problems with the car are annoying, but it's not new and has done 80k. My main prob was poor service fom dealer. I diagnosed the heater fault myself. Then took it back and showed it to them and they agreed but it's a common fault and they obviously spent less than 10 minutes with the engine on or the fault would have showed. The full extent of diagnosing the gearbox was to compare it to another car. Obviously no test drive or the heater prob would have showed itself!! But that's not the point I'm making, it's the fact I'm just being ignored. I sent this complaint letter 2 weeks ago and still have had no reply!as for the 2nd place, I have no moan with them. They did a good job. They found the probs that gordons missed had to charge. Fair enough.

i know exactly how poor Janus must feel with the problems she has had with her Saab. I am going through something similar. I did not want to leave my beloved zebedee on a public car park whilst I was at work so I bought a y reg fiesta 1.6 zetec s from gordons ford. It was unusual to find such a good example of a 2001 model, and equally surprising to see it amongst the new cars at the dealers, albeit at a higher price than I could have purchased privately. It wasnt cheap, but the extra cost was offset by the inclusion of a full years warranty. I have had problems with the car, none of which have been covered by the warranty, which to all intents and purposes is as useless as the dealers themselves have turned out to be. Despite always being calm and polite as I complained ( and keeping my partner and his friends from getting involved which would likely involve police and fire engines), my problems are now apparently passed to the owner of the company, a man I am never actually able to speak to as he is never available and never answers or replies to any calls. I am obviously being treated like a woman who can be fobbed off and ignored who in their eyes will go away quietly. but it has finally reached the point where it has become obvious to me that the money was the beginning and the end of all their interest. So lacking any form of satisfaction from attempting to contact them, I have instead decided to tell everyone I can of how they have treated me. A mate of mine had a desire. It had a fault that made it turn itself on and phone people at random! As a train driver we can get sacked for using a phone when we are driving so the day it phoned his manager was the day it went in the bin :thumbdown:

on the front page of our local paper. He hangs around the public area of our works car park asking for used tickets which he sells on. He's got 126 convictions!! Luckily us delicate girlies (and management) use a safer carpark but the lads have to use an unlit isolated carpark. Bit scary to think my other half and my mates have to pass this scumbag and his mates to get to their cars in the early hours of the morning :scared:

Same thing with whiplash. I got nerfed by a ford ka last year. Very little damage to my celica and I bounced out of my car fine but the next morning I was really sore n couldn't move my neck. Took weeks to get better and a couple of months to sort completely.

Check on your deeds or homebuyers questionnaire who actually owns the boundary and is responsible for it's upkeep. If it's shared then surely they can't force you to live with something you really don't want? Also there's nothing worse than long term rows with your neighbours so let them know how strongly you feel rather than sitting there seething. Ideally before the fence actually goes up!!

Yeah! We had a little fire,just some dry wood. Checked for neighbours washing etc,all clear. Couple of days later we got a 'nuisance ' letter off the council. Somebody complained. Sorted problem now. We just do it at 1am when we get in from work. Everybody is asleep!

I bought a house behind a school. Don't know why cos I hate kids and the ridiculous amount of noise they make, but it's my own fault. But now it's the summer hols, schools all locked up. But every day a load of older kids climb a 10 foot fence armed with footballs and spend all day bouncing them round the tennis courts. It's raining outside and they are still there!! Why can't the kids round here be normal and stay inside on their xboxes?

Isn't modern technology brilliant! I've just spent the last hour playing the proper versions of space invaders, galaxians and my all time fave astro-blaster Best of all, they are the real deal, albeit on my iPad. Better yet, I wasn't struggling with on screen controls, it was all done using a nintendo wii remote. With proper buttons!! :sorcerer:
