New to the site so hello.
Do you have any contact details for MJP please as I need to get started with the work, also ZedWorld have been brilliant and quoted me about £150 for a repair and paint but I was thinking along the lines of the rust is in there so time to swap the lot!!! The problem is caused by the targa roof drains draining in to the box section I have been told!!!!!!!!!! Cheers, Daz.

Thanks guys for the info, I have use of a full garage so it’s been very useful so far. The car has done 42000 miles with a full Nissan service history and I know and can speak to every owner from new, it stood for the last 11 years but is in surprisingly good condition, I have got the car to the point of where it does drive but now the work starts!!! I have to be honest and say I'm amazed how advanced these cars are and were for there time!!!! Any help or advice is more than welcome and don’t worry I will ask!!! Any questions as well about the car feel free to ask and I will post some pictures as I go on and updates. Thanks, Daz.

Make yourself a brew guys and I will give you the full story.... The car was bought new in 1991 for a company car, it was then bought by someone I work with who tried to fit a set of stainless exhausts including down pipes, he sheared the down pipe studs and then a change of circumstances the car got left at his mums under the car port for 11 years!!! I have bought the car including the spares and am now doing a full restore to standard as it came from the factory, the only none standard parts will be the exhausts. Here’s the scary bit......Ready, the garage I am working on the car in used to be a Nissan dealership and yes that’s right......It’s the garage the car was bought new from 20 years ago!!!! LOL So job list so far: Repair turbo studs, did that last night one left to do. New driver’s side rear sill section, I believe this is common on them??? New cam belt and aux belts. Full service. Goodridge brake lines. Rebuild the callipers, new disks and pads. New shocks all around. Fit spoiler and find and fit boot brake light. Paint. Drive and enjoy. I would love to do the BBQ hollandrob81 but I have 2 touring cars to get ready for the next weekend at Croft, thanks for the invite and it would be great to get over to a meet. 10 of the best if we can make it with the car I should be running an ex works Subaru Impreza 22b with over 750Bhp and you can’t miss it, its painted in the Sirocco green. Thanks for the warm welcome and expect some questions on what’s what, it’s the first time I have worked on a 300ZX and I have to say they were so far ahead of their time its unbelievable!!! The car had sat under a car port for 11 years on ramps, now it my turn to bring it back to its original condition and performance so keep your eyes open in wanted and for sale!!! LOL Can’t wait to get on the road with her and maybe meet a few of you along the way for some advice and beers??? Daz.

Thought I would introduce myself to you guys, I'm on here for help and advice and some like minded car lovers. I have just got my first UK 300ZX Twin Turbo, it's been stood for 11 years and has a few minor bodywork issues, mechanically it's perfect and after checking the engine and bores she started first turn of the key!!! A bit about me I'm in IT for a living and I'm also a Motorsport mechanic working on some very trick kit from ex works touring cars to ex works rally cars and special one off builds for time attack and 10 of the best. Pleased to meet you all. Daz.
