  5. Well I'm Back from Dorset with a new turbo .... none warrantied like my gut feeling all along ... after inspecting the turbo it failed due to Oil starvation they found and showed me Rubber/silicone item with in the Oil re-stricter where this came from not sure ... not sure if it was from the braided lines or from old Oil fittings so i'm another £450 quid lighter so tomorrows job is get the engine back in :)

  8. yeah i do understand all of that ... but to what i can see there has been plenty of oil getting to it to the point when i undid the line oil poured out ... same with the drain line the shaft of the turbo is bent on the exhaust side and yes bearings are shot too
  9. you got any thoughts on my turbo problem .. ( bent ) would like to know what u think jeff ... Mark
  10. you have replys in the other thread u posted in .. but i can only recommend Midland Turbos £195+vat inc 360 bearing
  11. would say thats easy to do knowing how hard it is to get that pipe in fitted right .. was it even clamped up on the inlet pipe ?
  12. the Tubs came from the Turbo Dynamics in UK ... all my fitting kit came from Z1 for the same tubs i'm hoping to take them tomorrow and get it sorted there and then was a saving of around £700 doing it this way but wasnt expecting it to fail luck'y i'm doing the work my self ...
  13. god knows ... i think its down to incorrect temping of the shaft when it was made ... and with the heat of the turbo ... well as u see it bent if it was something that was ingested they would be impeller/compressor damage to the majority of the blades the only damage is to the very outer edge tips where its been touching the housing due to the wobble
  14. Z1 ... it was a complete gt 2560r fitting kit .. for that turbo ..
  15. had some Emails from them all ready Old'st at bottem ... new at top Hi Mark, Unfortunately we do not cover any costs incurred from removal/re-fitting/additonal parts etc. Our warranty is exactly that, a warranty. It is not insurance against other costs (I know this sounds blunt, but easier for us to be on the same page!). With regards to warranty, nothing is decided or finalised until the turbochargers have been fully inspected. The shaft bending may of course be down to imperfections in the turbine shaft, but there also many other reasons why this may occur. I'm off to the airport now, and won't have access to my emails until wedsnesday, but please feel free to get in touch with my colleagues (Matt Waterman is technical team leader and will be up to date with this tomorrow). Regards, Tom Sent from my iPad On 9 Apr 2012, at 17:53, "Mark " wrote: yeah thats fine .. will speak tomorrow morning and check if they have core on shelf ... and i have the . paper work .... i know this is warrantie as the shaft shouldnt of bent line that or bent from new to be truthful thats the tub i dint bother spinning as it was the 2nd one fitted now the other problem i have is the cost of items to refit it .. new gaskets, oil, filter, time ... how do we stand on this .. as if it was a garage doing the work the cost’s would be mega and that would have to be sorted out .. its not as simple as taking the tub off the hole engine has to come out .... thats the bug bare with it its taken me a full day just to get at the tub Mark From: Tom Russell Sent: Monday, April 09, 2012 5:58 PM To: Mark Cc: sales Subject: Re: FAO Tom GT2560rs Mr Kent ( derbymodelshop ) Hi Mark, You can bring the turbos down for one of the technical team to give them the once over, but they will need to follow normal procedure and be properly inspected. I cannot confirm whether we have another Gt2860 on the shelf either - this will have to be checked tomorrow. My colleagues will be receiving these emails so they will be up to date. Remember the warranty form I sent will also need to accompany the turbos. Regards, Tom
  16. its not the point tho .. i still have to find time to do it and that cost's ££££ Need New Oil Filter 5lt Oil Gaskets for turbos Borrowed engine lift Neil's Time and Fuel My Time and Disappointment Missing a big'sh Show .. so yeah should be something there for me
  17. Well as most of you know not had a good time with my car ... and had to take my engine out again due to a brand New turbo failing .. And a big Thank you to ( Sayers ) Neil coming around today to led me a hand in taking the engine out for a 3rd time in less than a year ... m8 thanks very much your help was appreciated loads and if i can return the fava in any way i will :) any-who found out why my turbo had failed .... Bent Shaft and nackered bearing heres a video of the tub and some Pics of it installed as you can see all oil/water/return are spot on and no kinks and free flowing disconnected oil lines and 100% oil even to the point there was fresh oil inside the turbine side behind the fan so will be speaking to them tomorrow morning and hopefully taking a trip over and get it repaired there and then Mark
