  1. Any how-to's kicking about for doing the pcv valves?
  2. Who is painting it for you del? anyone local?
  3. Hi, Quick question for you all, When taking my zed to the MOT station i noticed in my rear view mirror that it was putting some blue smoke out the passenger side exhaust under load. Now this only happens when i give it some beans, So is it the turbo on its way out or something more sinister? Cheers in advance
  4. I have emailed you aswell, if you don't mind sending me the gide that wold be awesome.
  5. It is up at the garage just now so will be getting looked at over the next few days, hopefully its not to bad. Defo hasn't been lowered.
  6. It will defo pass, won't leave the garage till it has a pass thats for sure. Just hope it doesn't cost massive amounts to get her roadworthy. Want more money to make it special!!
  7. Well i drove the car this morning up to the garage for some repairs and an MOT, And tbh it was dreadful to drive. Steering was very vague, pulling to the left and had no real confidence in it at all. Now on closer inspection at the garage it has very noticeable camber on the front, i take it this can be corrected without the need to buy adjustable parts? Is there anything else that may cause this? Cheers in advance.
  8. Well it's dropped off ready to have the brake pipes done, Though i think it ill need a fair bit more if im honest. On the drive up the steering was shocking to say the least, on closer inspection it appears to have a massive amount of camber on the front end! also needs rear shocks so may just fit the BIlsteins i have here. Wasn't overly impressed with it tbh but i think that may change once all the niggles are sorted out ( i hope )
  9. Well finally taking the 300 up to the garage today, Going to have all the brake pipes re-done and then MOT. All being well it will be fully legal and roadworthy by Tuesday. Plus side is i get to drive it up to the garage shortly!! First time i will have properly driven it.
  10. Strange that as i have just fitted a set of Iridium plugs to my zed to replace the platinums. Most defo running a lot better and no more lumpy idle. Or will they only last a short time? I went with the NGK bkr7eix .
  11. I wont mind knowing how?? Something i plan to do soon.
  12. It will be staying red, so will need the following: 2l AG2 Base Coat 3l Laquer 1l Hardener 5l Thinners Anything else im sure the painter will have. Now just have to find one!!!
  13. Going to be looking to get the zed painted in the near future, few other jobs first though. Question is how much paint etc will i need to do a full hit on the 300? i can get the paint etc from work for much cheapness and thought id be aswell getting it the now so it's just a case of dropping the car off when i find someone to paint it. Cheers in advance.
  14. What kinda money is in the kit?
  15. I can get the turtle wax from my work, which is handy as i was planning on trying to do a bit more tomorrow if it's dry. Main problem is i dont have a hose overat my garage and since it aint tax or tested i cant bring it to the hose. What would you suggest i use that i can wipe off?
  16. Ok, My zed has been sat doing nothing for the last 2.5yrs. It is covered in all sorts of crap such as tree sap etc. Now i have gave it a quick wash to take the worst of it off tonight but there is still alot on there which isn't for coming off by hand. Now question is should i give it another wash then break out the clay bar? Or is there another way you would recommend?? Cheers in advance
  17. Cheers, knew about the balance bar part of it. Just didnt fancy going to start the service and realising the plugs were a nightmare, hate starting a job and not getting it finished!!
  18. Just a quick question, I'm doing a service on the 300 tomorrow and will be changing the plugs. Question is, To remove the coils do i just remove the 2 bolts that hold it to the manifold and pull it out or as it seems with every other job on these is it alot more complicated than this?? Cheers in advance
  19. Thats the very one, Thanks. Couldnt mind the name of it.
  20. I had a website saved on my old laptop which had various how-to's for the 300zx but for the life of me i can't find it anywhere now, Anybody got any good links to such a site? Cheers in advance
  21. That has been ruined, Think he forgot to mention the trophy was for 'Most ruined car of the show'.
  22. Going the pic i would say its numbers 13 + 16, I think!?!
  23. Quick question, When looking down on the headlamps under the bonnet there appears to be a metal bracket that attaches to the headlamp, Question is are the available on there on or are they part of the headlamp?? the ones on my zed are abit rusted and was looking to replace them. Cheers in advance
  24. Thats what im talking about xan lee, Still a few things id remove/hide in there but that is what im aiming for. Done a couple of hidden looms on the vr6's which is fun. Love it when you lift the bonnet and people are like there is no way that can start up and run!! There is alot of time involved in doing them but i think everyone will agree that its worth it. Probs do bits and pieces through the summer, then whip the engine out during winter to finish it off. That way i can freshen up the motor at the same time. I have to agree the wheels have ruined that car, not so much the wheels but the fitment. 1.5'' less in the width on the rears and less camber and it could have been epic!!!
  25. Well coming from the 'VW scene' I buy into the less is more attitude when it comes to cars, Even more so when it comes to the engine bay. Now obviously the 'jap/300zx scene' is a bit different but is there any 300's out the with a very minimalist engine bay?? Cheers in advance
