The Volvo was indeed a laugh, with it's high seas swaying suspension and auto box, certainly put some 'cooler' cars to shame though on the day. That was at oulton last year, and as you can imagine, team werthers was indeed written in the muddy paintwork! Ha ha :D

Thanks for the info all, jap.slapper, Ive done a bit of track day drifting and am ok at it :) I agree with the Volvo/bm suggestion too as the last car we were using was a Volvo 960 auto!!! Ha ha Suprisingly it did very well, turns out they have an eaton locking diff on some models, luckily the one we had o Was one of them! :D I've had a couple of silvias that were as you say easy to drift and fix :) It just baffled me as to why such a cool car (z32) doesn't seem to be on the drift scene at all! I'd also put it down to diff/ breathing and breakage issues...... But thought I'd ask the experts :)

Does anyone drift their z........?
I had looked at tt ones and if it weren't for the bad experiences ive had with the sr20det engines in my two silvias, I'd have probably took a chance on one..... But I had a 350 3 yrs ago and loved it to bits! Can't explain why, just think its an awesome car. The 300 puts a big smile on my face too though, especially on a sunny day when you can get the Targas out and hear that engine tone :)

Ha ha they're the best drifts aren't they! I also get that point of view as I imagine a lot of you guys have had your Zeds a while and become attached, I only just got mine last year hoping it would quench my thirst for a 350 again..... It didn't, but I certainly can't fault the z32 as a car, they certainly are two different beasts when compared though. Hence why I can't bring myself to sell it :) So decided I would make it my task to create a bit of a drift toy out of it instead..... Please don't get that the wrong way though, by drift toy I mean track drift toy, not on road :) Wouldn't want to tarnish the z32 image :)

I hoped that would be the only reason :) As I am fixing that problem.......

Does anyone drift their z........?
Just wondering if anyone drifted their 300? It's not something I've been able to find much evidence of so just wondering if I'm looking in the wrong place or if there is a reason why people don't...? My 350z drifts lovely but is worth too much to me to be driven in that manner too often....... My 300 is also of value to me but isn't worth as much (just before anyone gets offended) :hang: I get that an N/A 300 has an open diff but is there some other reason that people don't seem to drift these cars? To me it seems an ideal candidate for the task really??? What do you guys think? :)

Auto shift solenoid 'A' location
That is of course P or D at the end of paragraph 1..... iPad won't let me edit though :)

Auto shift solenoid 'A' location
I don't know because I haven't done a 300 auto but on volvo autos of times gone by it was either on the brake pedal (to allow you to move the stick from p) or the gear selector itself to tell it that it's in D or D to allow it to start?? Not sure how much use that will be to you but I'm sure someone in the know will wake up soon and put you on the right track :) Least you can look somewhere until then...... Good luck! :)

quick question
If your considering gt28s might I suggest you consider the gt28rs turbos, roller bearing and spool up very well compared to standard gt28. My silvia had one on and made healthy 330bhp. Spec did include power fc, FMIC, nismo 555 injectors and z32 maf though..... I'm not sure what z32 injectors are as standard though so they may be your limiting factor with turbo choice :)
