  1. It did !! I initialy was seeing pound signs tumbling before my eyes! Where will it need bleeding from then? is it not just the nipple on the slave itself??
  2. Thanks for that ! got it up on the ramps, slave cylinder gone, all the fluid had collected into the rubber gaiter, hence no drips. Moved the gaiter, fluid everywhere!!! I'm happy that thats all it is !!! Dai
  3. No suggestions, i'm off to try to fix now.
  4. driving home in my 91 TT manual. Not doing anything mad. come to junction, can select gear, clutch goes soft, biting point seems to be really low down. Manage to select 1st and move off, select 2nd. next junction, press clutch when i stop, nothing there, car stalls. manage to start it and get to my mums drive and park it there, cant select any gears, clutch goes straight to floor and back up, nothing there. Rang my mechanic buddy, he seems to think the clutch fluid has gone low. I soooooooooooooooooooooo hope this is the correct diagnosis. Anyone else had similar?? cheers Dai

  7. I'm Asking this on behalf of my mate (honest :headvswal ) who has just taken delivery of a anew 1990 TT import. Battery was flat/dead, after the trip so he put in his battery from his sx, but failed to notice the terminals are the opposite way. So, he connected + ive to the - ive and so on. Now car is dead, only main beam works. I assume (hope) that he's just blowna fuse or something, Any suggestions what ? ? ? ?
  8. Cant see it being much good on a V6, as the TT surpa's ect are straight 6's so not a problem. Wont you be using just 3 cylinders to run the turbo, or am i missing something here? Will 3 cyls be enough to run the turbo to flow enough air for 6? Cant see it being better then twin biggger than standard ones. Then again, what do i know !!
  9. Left hand side, under glove box, right in the corner - you wouldnt miss it mate if its there ;)
  10. Mine had 2 flares, one in the holder and on ein the boot! Keeping it there for authenticity !!

IMO i would always, and have always replaced the head bolts when rebuilding, or taking the head off the CA18DET. It's not that big a cost for piece of mind, as can you tell by looking if there is a fault on one of the bolts you are reusing ????
