  1. Well yaz I spose it must have taken me a good 8 hours thats with a four poster ramp a very comprehensive set of snap on tools and a teenth to stop me loosing my rag. If the manifold bolts come off ok then ya laughing, shit if they dont,so about 15 to 20 cuts and bruises and one black eye from a 1/2 drive ratchet hitting me in the face and 8 hours just about did it . Anyway, its much more fun and interesting doing it yourself regardless of pain.
  2. HI Mark The aiv stuff had allready been stripped of my car but I believe you could do either. as regards the temp sensors I just tucked them out of the way anywhere I could but they can be cut off if you like , Ijust kept mine incase I ever need to put the cats back on. Oh by the way they dont wanna come out I had to resort to the gripwrench attack. Good luck.
  3. Hi Mark Just a few things I learned whilst decating my tt. I bought the kit from e bay and very nice it was to, so I fitted it, not to bad to do, remove battery to do n/s and brake mastercylinder to do o/s top bolts ,then from under the car remove cats heat sheilds and the tricky bit the lower manifold bolts , get a good 13 mm spanner for the job cos if it slips or snaps your in a world of grief. change the o2 sensors to the new manifolds ,not to bad as there in a brass bush so they dont just snap of like I thought they might, then bolt it all back up. No problem? yes problem, A week later they are leeking on the manifold gasket,so today I took them off again to find the flange faces that bolt to the turbos had warped to leave a gap for gas to escape on each end ,when checked with a steel rule about two mil, also the two bolts holding the seperating block in had come undone. So after flating the flanges and locktighting the the two bolts in I used a high temp gasket sealer when refiting them and at last all is well. Next time Iwould check the flatness of the flanges , locktight the seperating block allen bolts and use a hi temp sealer on the manifold gaskets. Live and learn I guess.
  4. HI All. I,ve been thinking about fitting a turbo timer but am not sure what the situation is regarding my cobra alarm and immobiliser as it arms in 30 seconds when the engine would still be running. I,m sure lots of people here have had the same problem , any advice would be welcome.
  5. yeh no worries steve give us a bell when you know when.
  6. Thanks a lot guys no need to worry then all should be ok . By the way which chip and boost contoller is the most used by you guys as I dont have any boost jets fitted?
  7. Hi All. Having fitted the decat and cat back exhaust I am about to fit an apexi air filter but am wondering if the induction is now going to be beyond the limits of the maf and ecu resulting in lean running. If this is the case is it time to get the ecu chipped and a boost controler fitted ,I take it that will sort it out. Any advice would be gratefully received.
  8. Hi mark. The number for blue flame is 01695724444. I ordered one for my lwb and found them very helpfull.
  9. Come to north wales land of the obsessive brunstrom and you can see his boys boing well in excess of 100mph most of the time ,no emergency ,no lights, no sirens and if you dont shift in time there 1 foot off your ass givin attitude. I,ve even had one in a plain car commin along side at night tryin to goad me to race him so the piece of s##t could nick me for speeding . I am a professional driver ,well over a thousand miles a week and I know that the best drivers are born not trained .(F####ng hypocrites)

  11. I had the same problem with my konis so I went to my local motorbike shop with measurements and got some ordered.
  12. Thanks for that guys, whats puzzling me is if I bolt this system on to my decat pipes I will lose the balance pipe in the middle I take it this is not a problem on a zx when I did the same to a transam it never ticked over quite as smooth as before. turboz I would be very interested to hear your review.
  13. Do you have a de cat as well cos as far as I can see there is no link pipe between the two sides . I dont have the link for them but if you search 300zx I think there on the second page.

  18. Hi All. I,m looking to sort out the induction side of things and was wondering whether Iwould be best off using k+n dropins or a induction kit ,bearing performance and reliability in mind . Any ins an outs ,pros an cons anybody?
  19. IF nissan gave us a four poster ramp in the toolkit life would be so much simpler.
  20. Another word of caution, dust the dash, hoover the carpet and take that fag out ya mouth or you,ll spend half ya time picking s**t out ya eyes like I did today. But then who cares on a day like today.
  21. Well the job is done, took me all day saturday and all I can say is thank god my mate has a 4 poster ramp and a very compehensive set of snap on tools. I decided to tie up the sensors then I can swap back if I get mot probs. Many thanks for the advice.
  22. Nice one thanks Mike.
  23. Yeh the ones in the cats not the ones in the manifolds. OH and by the way are the o2 sensors going to unscrew just like that without snapping or anything hideous like that ?
  24. Thanks for the rapid reply Mike ,doing the job in the morning . So I take it there not really needed at all and ditching them doesnt affect the motor in any way?
  25. HI All Does anyone know what I do with the sensors in the cats when I put the decats on ?
