  1. new license plate on. had to cut the back plates to fit, contemplating doing the same to the front. don't like the square shape rear plates.
  2. are theses an alternative to the japspeed ones? any gain or loss with keeping/removing the aiv pipes? and regards to emissions, when you remove the cats does it pass or do you need to have something else in place. i thought the Z's are considered a classic and don't need to have have emissions done which is why the cats are removed
  3. sound system all check. sub box connected correctly and removed bass tube and external amp. sounds bumpin!! :punk:
  4. no its not from 2fast2cool its someone else whos breaking their car. the listing did say they are japspeed. and it looks like it to thats the one on japspeed. looks the same. taff, aiv pipes?
  5. i have this and im looking to get this in the future are these a simple replace with old ones? or is there another kind out there? i currently have a vielside exhaust and not sure if it will fit. or am i better off getting the whole thing replaced.
  6. re wired the front speakers directly to head unit from the amp, better sound quality now! took me about an hour to organize the wires and re do them, not bad since the last time i something like this was when...... cant even remember!! sub box and rear speakers next tomorrow
  7. hi all need help with my boost controller. it says warning on the display and the gauge is illuminated in red. it used to be blue. is that a separate warning or fualty wiring causing it to change color? i have no clue how it works or if its even working at all. jeff said it was an old unit and i would like to have it replaced. when the car is off thats what is it reads when i think its working, engine on at idle and when i think its not, engine on at idle jeff also said that because its an old unit the afc was used to bypass the ecu pre chipping days. so would i just need to get it remapped? chipped? and drop the afc. i found this on the net but it looks like a pregnecy test kit!! i dont know what im getting boost wise and id like to be able to feel that power kick in like it used to. it has been parked up for quite some time and after being unable to finish the rocker cover gasket repair i gave it in to zed world its back on the road now but ive noticed a drop in power and the dump valves dont sound anything like they used to, its as if there arent any!! recommendations and help please
  8. replaced the antique kenwood stereo with a single din dvd pioneer player oh and acidently broke the top piece of the trim
  9. i believe its the VW RNS-510 Navigation System. i know im not going to get what i paid for it but current cheapest on ebay is going for 389 any sensible offers welcome. all proceeds will go to providing a much needed new set of suspensions coilovers for my z
  10. stereo replaced... broke the top bit of the trim..... it was like a piece of cracker!! Before After
  11. funny you guys should say that because after going no where with that vw unit ive picked up a decent pioneer flip out unit sub box and amp for a bargin! will put up pics when installed :devil2: so ye i will be getting rid of that. thanks everyone!
  12. i took it to another audio shop and two of them one of which was the owner said '**** chance of that getting to work' :glare: he proceeded to say that the unit i have was wired into every aspect of the car it came from and that even the connectors have that cache or something like that and its going to be hard to get it to work with the nave, i told him dont worry about the navi and to just get the radio/cd player to work. to which his reply was if some how they did manage to get it to work even then it wouldn't work properly. they didnt even try to power it up. dont think these audio folks like the idea of switch and swap. anyways i did a bit or research and found that some have successfully got this to work in a nissan elgrand. i did stick in in the bay to get a look of it and it fit but found that i would have to cut the middle bit of the trim out and be left with a gap on each side. or custome build one. it would be easier to get a cheap china copy but wheres the fun in that.... heres a picture of the numbers
  13. as far as the navigation im not really concerned if it did work, double bonus if it did, but mainly radio and playing music. if its too much pain in the ass then ill just sell it and get something of similar kind..
  14. would it need coding? reprogramming? i think it has no function to the vehicale giving that its not in it, lol it was pulled from a wrecked car so i guess so
  15. hi all, ive got a VW Radio Navigation sitting in my room and my stereo is in desperate need of replacing. Id rather have this installed. does anyone know who and where I can get an unbiased advice from? It seems that the few audio stores that I've been to are more interested in selling me one. Or are adamant that it cant be done. Im sure it can be done. The last person said to me it wouldn't work because its coded to the vw computer. either way id like have that installed. is it possible?
  16. thanks pal, looking forward to some sun!!!!!!

  20. one more thing where is zedworld based?
  21. thanks alot for the info, i'd really rather get it fixed and keep her tbh but Tudor, that would be much appreciated, let me know when if possible. i could come down and have a look a look at your ride. I may have some extra time, the house where its parked at has scaffolding up and its stuck in till they come down :D depending on how long it is its either help from you or give it to get fixed. and has anyone heard of steve batt from silverline racing from Staffordshire? i found corresponding emails to him when i intended to rebuild the engine with more power. but i am not sure what would be best. thanks fellas
  22. hey hey, my zx needs some tlc and i need to either get it fixed or get rid of it. i started the rocker cover gasket replacement and haven't completely finished it. ive got the passenger side gasket done and haven't got the time now to do it myself. the car is garaged but it needs to go from there soon. if anyone knows of a reputable auto shop anywhere in or near Manchester that knows about the zx would be much appreciated. ive checked around and found that they either don't want to do it or they don't know what they are doing. thanks.
  23. any suggestions for garages in manchester?
