if the unit is within it's first 30 days from fitting you can demand they replace it not repair it but unfortunatly after that 30 days it the manufacturers descresion as to weather they repair or replace the unit

defrag the hard drive and do a hard drive error check also do a search and download lavasoft adaware abd run that 9 out 10 probs could be tracking cookies running in the background i'm clearing about 20 a day at the mo

has it always run slow or just started to? could be just something as simple as you need to upgrade your memory you should hve at least 512kb running windows xp imho
