it would be the rb gear box mated to the z32 with some choping but the xmember has to be notched to to fit as well as fabing the rb25 oil pan to fit the rb26

still think the rb would be awsome

theyr was a guy on the rbz32 forum that had done it he said it want a hard swap..but toyota in a nissa just doesnt seem....natural

right guys a wee update on this decided to get my deposit back n before you ask he's already got a buyer for it..lol any hoo been reading up on the swap and the cons outwayd the pros ie i dont fancy havin to cut bits of the subframe just gona enjoy the n/a for what it is and if it comes up im gonna spend the money on a vg30dett lump that will fit.. if n when it comes up im not to disapointed to be honest

brilliant thanks thought id check that one but on further inspection it had blown right down on the leg (made it hard to see with a wee torch in the footwell) but thanks all sorted now

right i was sorting out the wiring on my sidelights(they were damaged ) any way got them working properly but the light fellout my hand when powerd up and shorted now all im getting is full beams on all three click with the full beam symbol on the dash and the fogs arnt working iether bulbs are fine think it might be a fuse checkd the fuse box in the engine bay and theyr all good any ideas thanks

think iv opend a can ov worms here i do like the vg engines i wouldn even consider this if the oppertunaty for a very cheap rb hadnt come up but weel see what happens some serous planning an headachs ahead as for the vg vs rb engines i think if its the vg30dett then its not a viable or worthwile swap but as mine is a N/a then its more than worth while

cheers guys will need to wait a few months hofully starting a new job in the next few weeks so money flow will be allot better but hes being incredibly cool just gave him a 100 deposit and gona pay him in installments been on the had a look on the rbz32 forum..very insightfull and definetly doable got a few friends that are good at frbricating so looking at realiticly having it done by the end of summer

sorry guys but who said anything about the vg not being up to the job just got the chance of the engine which is sitting about 450bhp but consider this going from a N/A to a turbod lump for £750(yes that cheap good m8s rates and iv helpd him out plenty of times)thats a good performance jump for the money and well be doing the swapp ourselfes so not labor costs lets face it cant spend £750 on the vg30de and get and extra 200+ horses just a thought just now wanting to see how viable it is first and the complications

oh should mention aswell i get all the gubbins that come with it..ecu and all the engine wiring/loom whatever you wanna call it

right here goes just today iv had an ofer that kinda to good to be true a m8 of a m8 binnd his skyline iv got first dibs on a rb26 has anyone here put this engine in a z32 or know anyone that has any pitfalls or things to watch outfor im not gona disclose the price for the offer but..its pennies really for a bog standard rb26dett thanks

you should be good m8 my tax ran out on the 31st jan declared sorn on the 28th wnt out once on the 30th(coz i really had to) got pulled by the traffic..came up on theyr comp that it was sornd but coz the tax was still legal the just moved me on wont work every time but.. hope that helps..dono if traffic laws are different each side of the border
