  1. I'm waiting until my points go on to the shell drivers club thing to find out what I put in... Just incase
  2. It is thicker but does fit my car as it doesn't have the bit inside that stops the nozzle fitting in.
  3. Hellraiser and lonezedder - the PTU is located in the normal place at the front of the engine. Could be something to consider. I'll have a look at that link regarding the fuel pump but I'm not convinced it's that with it starting when the MAF is unplugged. Seemed to be getting too much fuel really. Okay, I don't think I've done this here, but the only other thing I did was put fuel in. What would happen if Id put diseasel in rather than petrol. Just thinking, the other car is diesel. I don't think I've done this but silly enough, I didn't get a receipt. So, I'll check online as I'll get points... Just to be safe.
  4. Yes mate, I re-done the pump because I had it hanging higher up at first... Which in turn would have made the tank smaller, or at least I'd have ran out of fuel quicker. I've ruled out the lack of fuel as it was 3/4 full. And it was still starting, albeit barely, with the MAF unplugged.
  5. These things happen mate. Never worth letting it get to ha. Sense I was happy to take to piss out of myself lol. On a side note, since you done the true top gear convoy thing and left, you missed out on a free dinner at the pub. Instead, I treat Paul to a romantic meal lol - - - Updated - - - Thanks mate. Was an expensive day for not getting there
  6. I've not as I had nothing to put air through the car with. And it was undriveable... So it would start with the maf unplugged but you couldn't drive it. Wouldn't start at all with the maf plugged in.
  7. Not too worried about me gaz, want the car working right.
  8. Hello matey. I've not checked the fuel pump fuses specifically, but I checked all of the ones in the engine bay and were fine. Not sure if the fuel one is in there. That being said though, the car will start with the MAF unplugged, so it must be getting fuel.
  9. Well, I'm home everyone which is great. I'll let you all know what I find on the car... Hopefully I will find it anyway
  10. Gutted I wasn't there or on the stand. Still stuck up the road
  11. Yeah we're getting recovered but the eta is 3 hours. First bloke that came out was a canny, but didn't really have a clue over me and PaulZX but obviously we know a decent amount between us. I shorted the ecu to pull the error codes through on to the dash and it gave 12, which is the MAF, but that would probably be there due to starting the car with it being unplugged. I do have another question about this. If the error code exists and I try another MAF without clearing the codes, would it still not work due to the error existing?
  12. I am mate yes. First time its really broken down (apart from when I ran out of fuel that time lol)
  13. Balance bar seems ok mate
  14. I don't think so, ID expect if there was an air leak like that, that it would still run (please someone say if I'm wrong here)
  15. Not sure if it matters here but I changed the fuel pump a week or so ago. I'm not sure its that though as it starts with the maf unplugged. Also the fpcu is bypassed if that makes any odds.
  16. The revs didn't fly up mate. The car just suddly started to misfire and died. Anyway to check the tps? I'm outside a b&q and there's a napkins over the road if I need to buy anything
  17. Would the ptu cause any symptoms like those mentioned above?
  18. We took the cas plug off and back on. Will give it half an hour or so and try it again. The ptu is a series 2
  19. Yeah, filled it up early
  20. Thing ID, its a dry day although it did rain last night. Plus it drove for an hour or so pretty faultlessly. Plus we tried a working maf.
  21. Was on the way to totb too. So, car was driving fine, no problem at all. All of a sudden, misfiring and loss of power to a stop. As it wouldn't rev very high we though it was the maf, unplugged it and the car seemed to start fine. But very rough and we've limped to somewhere safe. So, when the car starts with the maf unplugged, if we plug it back in, the car dies. Won't start with it plugged in. We tried a known working maf from the other car and still the same, won't start with the maf plugged in. Also struggling to start anyway with I'm thinking could be the engine getting flooded. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Lee
  22. Gutted you won't be there again... I will see your car on track one day in my lifetime
  23. Im gonna say don't bother with ebay cables. Half of them don't work etc. I'd suggest the ecu talk cable, Horsham developments sell them too but I'm guessing it's cheaper buying from aus... http://www.h-dev.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=5053
