I absolutely agree Al, I'm just saying that the committee have welcomed suggestions etc which has been great and that last comment (if aimed directly at me) sounded get a polite 'get lost'. Feel free to mod that comment if I'm barking up the wrong tree here. Might be just how it's came across. I think this is a great idea.

Sorry if I'm taking this the wrong way Richard and I'm not sure if this was directed at me but I felt it a little blunt if it was considering you've welcomed our opinions until that point and I was only making a suggestion!

I have an idea, why don't you all look at the banned members and see who you would reinstate. I just worry that you'd go through all of this, then the committee wouldn't vote favourably on any1. I guess we'll just see what happens but I'm thinking maybe a pro-active approach might be better rather than waiting to see if anyone comes back just to be turned away

I genuinely think the mods and committee have a tough job. And to be fair to them. They are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. So I think we need them. I do think that they should 'consider' what the forum have to say on some matters though. So perhaps allowing the forum to vote is also a good thing. But don't allow the names of who voted for and against on the poll's. When I first recommended something like this was because in Si's case, the main reason given was due to members wanting him gone, so perhaps if members want him back...

I hope it can be resolved amicably. I too have bought from said party and hes been nothing but helpful. Surely if the addressee didn't sign for it you can claim on the insurance as they shouldn't give it to just anyone.

Good post Alan. Personally I think it's a different matter leaving someone out of pocket to upsetting someone. I think if I was to offend someone then it's an apology that is required where as if I'd ripped someone off then I think making right by either sorting the goods or refund etc and an apology. But then I guess you'd need to look at the ins and out of the sale and the circumstances. Maybe in that scenario, then the committee should review independently and perhaps if a committee member was involved in the specific deal (don't know what happened in jim's car) then that commuter member wouldn't be involved the vote, that way it stays impartial I guess. And if in doubt I should make the final call lol

That's fine, At least it's being reviewed. I guess that this is only going to be a good idea though, if the commitee do actually allow some of the members to return, otherwise it seems completely pointless and is maybe giving some former members false hope so to speak. I still like the idea of giving a chance on a temporary basis of whatever time period you guys feel fit. Would then at least allow the applicant to 'show' and prove that he or she has changed for the better. This would possibly work well if there's a split vote or perhaps the commitee just still have some reservations.

Well I hope he does contact Richard. And I hope he is given a chance. If he isn't given a fair chance then the whole thread is pointless. But I do genuinely believe we have a good set of commitee member who will review this independantly provinf Si does approach them. Like I said though, erhaps allow him back for a set time and then review it further. Good luck either way! Perhaps you should send Alan a can of Stella, then he'll like you again

I doubt if I'd take it too seriously - you know me. But he has given me jip but I found it funny and that's how I believed it to be intended. And no not just because he has a nice car. i genuinely think hes a good bloke and added benefits with his knowledge etc. I just hope we can all move on and maybe consider accepting his apology. Sometimes that's the most someone could do for there previous flaws. Just be worth putting it to the committee and maybe allow someone back temporarily, maybe like a probationary period (of say 2 weeks or something) to see what happens. Would show willing on Botha parts and would show whether someone has changed etc. Just worth further consideration

Hi Si. I like that you've put your comments on here. It's great to see someone being a man about it and apologising. I guess there's a procedure you'll need to follow to see the powers that be will allow you to come back. Personally I hope they do but I guess it's up to you to convince them its the right thing to do by the club. And you do add a lot of knowledge and expertise. Your car would also attract people to insider getting one. Good luck
