Any one back from The Pod?
Total respect due here for the Forums first 12 sec run of the year. Talking about big bhp and how quick it should be is one thing. Getting out there and ACTUALLY doing it is another league higher all together. Now as promised yesterday!!..... here they come!!........      . And an added bonus is that you have spurred Chunk on to join you next time out!. Just to remind everyone ...... ITS SUN JUN 19th. 2nd day of the Jap Show. Amidst all our own fun and excitement perhaps I can just add a little footnote . Just as the last few of us were preparing to leave a Pro Stock came out and did a FULL POWER RUN. 5.9 sec at 249mph! OMG!!! I dont wanna drive THAT quick ....EVER

Any one back from The Pod?
I'll second that Rich. It just saddens me that more forum members dont come along. Its not expensive to take part, the food is plentiful and not at rip off prices. Its Normally a "yob free" zone which seldom has any "trouble". There is usually something "interesting "to see.We all get together socially and this includes Z Club members too who are taking part in the Z Club Challenge Series. But hardly anyone comes! And we are there about six times during the season.

Prices on the up?????

Any one back from The Pod?
So many angry rwyb drivers  that the organizers finally relented and gave us a clear slot late in the afternoon, WITHOUT all the proper drag stuff getting in the way. :xxx: I dont want to spoil everyone else's good news(and there is some) so i'll just tell you what I did...... Personal Best of 15.48.et :nana2: Personal Best of 90.71 terminal speed. :nana2: ( best 60ft timetoday 2.25.) SWB N/A. Stock apart from Stllen Air intake system, Blueflame custom Zorst and a pair of Kuhmo V70A med compound 245/45-16. Happy ?????? YUP! Well pleased with my results. Now bring on my tubular headers! The SWB 300 IS potentially a 14 sec car! With a few more mods! (Even with an old dodger behind the wheel!!!)

SWB, exhaust, how different from LWB
Mine was custom made and fitted at Blueflame Performance exhausts in Skelmersdale. Ive got 6"x4" oval tips but you can pick wot u want. I paid £390 cat back FITTED.Most companies cant even sell you one for that money never mind custom design and fit it. Also has custom decat job for another £200, designed for max power to my spec in consultaion with their head fitter. I can also confirm wot has already been said on this thread... there is no way a readybuilt 2+2 system can be cut n shut to fit. Fact. A work of art???? FFS we're only talkin bout exhausts, not the "Mona Lisa"!!!! :p Interestingly enough Chunk and me will be meeting up as usual at the Pod on Sun 22nd(this Sun). We will be able to compare zorsts!! (OOOH ERRR Missuss!!!) And more to the point for the Chunky one and me is..... how much quicker will we be with the new systems????  Cos as you all know guys n gals...when the flag drops... the bulls**t stops!

Who's going "The Pod" on Sunday?
We certainly are!! :hyper: All you have to do to find out when we are there, along with the rest of the Z Club Drag Challenge guys is look under "national events" ;) This month Its under Midlands meets :slap: , cos Ivan(The Dark Warrior) and our esteemed leader   has chosen the day there for the Midlands meet. I hope you guys can make it. I think we may be lookin at the seasons first 12 sec run by a 300ZX. Thats if the Chunkster doesnt blow it up at Castle Coome on Sat.The old geezer pictured in the car below will be running too, BUT not QUITE in the 12 sec bracket. LOL Even if Chunk doesnt make it we'll have a good day there putting the Zed world to rights and consuming large amounts of "all day breakfasts,NEW MEGA long dogs and of course Pukka Pies!!!" :D :D :D

Sad state of the country
What is this walking thing all about??? How do you do that?? Our feet are hinged to our legs to allow us to press pedals, not for anything else. If it cant be accessed by car.... it cant be accessed... end of story. :D :D

Mids meet 22nd may
No this is just a one day meet on a normal Run what ya brung day. All family welcome, but can be a bit boring for non petrol heads. I will be there for 9.00am as I like to get signed on early and get in to the front of the queue in the fire up road ready to run as soon as they start(usually around 9.30) Those who are not running or not really bothered about getting started early will just wander in during the morning. PM Ivan,The Dark Warrior to find out wot time the Leicester Massive are getting there. No doubt they will be avin a round Britain convoy on the way! The Feb nite out thing was cos there was nite time racing on the Sat nite too, in addition to the usual Sunday rwyb day. Was a bloody good laugh! BUT COLD

Think I Found Your Misfire Pete!!
Lets start at the beginning shall we? I took the Slick Top to MantaV8 aka Darren today to have the plugs changed and the recirc stuff removed ,following on from my zorst change. The car had ever such a slight misfire ONLY at tickover(I thought) When Darren removed the err... Champion Plugs... the one in no 5 cyl had NO ELECTRODE left...look at the pic.!!!!! Gahd nows how it was firing at all!! What can I say! :o Probably "thanks Darren " for a top job done.   The even better news is that he "might " be puttin on my stainless headers next month for me??????? Please????? :hyper: Gradually a 14sec N/A is starting to look like a possibility :hyper: All it needs is a 14 sec driver!

New exhaust
Correct! ;) But they still make a system to that pattern. So you get the scenario....Question" When is a Mongoose not a Mongoose????" Answer...."When it has a Blueflame coming out of it." Been there(Skem) ... Got the tee shirt to prove it(seriously!) :D :D

Ashby wotsit?? Is this a SECRET meeting?? Where the fook is it?? Oh no let me guess! Near Leicester/ Melton Mowbray?? No! Ok I give up! :headvswal Oh S**t I get it now , youre not saying where it is cos you dont want me to attend.

bit gutted
Just my little personal opinion here. If I had a car that I had invested £17K in and had to leave it for 6/9 months I would look at putting it in professional, secure, insured, airconditioned storage with a suitable maintenance program built in. no disrespect to your mate but..... All IMHO
-
Powerflow exhaust
You will need to have a custom fit job. No stock swb systems(eg from Mongoose) Mine has just been done at Blueflame. Call them and talk to either Nigel or Ian, for full info. If you do go ask Ian to do the job himself. Top Man! (Tell him I sent you!!!!!!) Remember that Zorst requirements for N/As (like mine) and TTs are different. Take your time and get it right. There are plenty of knowledgable people on this forum to help you.

Help me then. please....
Bedford is not a million miles from Santa Pod. Just come along to the RWYB day,22 May. quite a few going, its also the Midlands Area meet, which you are most welcome to attend. Run it up the strip , get your times , you can then compare them to times done by other known cars(eg Chunk,TonyC,Jaffa etc) £10 entry , £15 to run. Britains cheapest "rolling road" Oh BTW..... Its a FUN day out.... We dont do aggro, slanging matches etc! Just all day breakfasts , PIES and new LONG dogs.
-
i got a video of a zed doing a 8.75 sec 1/4 mile
I dunno. LOL But I NEED one in mine!!!! That guy has time to do a second run and still be quicker than me!

Nice Day.......
Fortunately I didnt go to see MantaV8 today or I too would have copped it for some hard labour. It was a glorious morning so I set off in the Slick top at 9.00am to drive up to Knutsford services to meet Witchdoctor, and buy some stuff off him. Very light traffic on the A50 headin for Stoke, so I just ignored the "ping" at 115mph and kept goin. :hyper: Met witchdoctor, who is sellin his slick top(nice car) got the gear from him(Thanx for that M8, nice to meet). discovered I hadnt enough petrol to get home , :headvswal so bought some more!! Wot lyin barsteward told me N/As were better on petrol??? Now here is the sad bit..... I actually opened the windows to listen to the zorst goin through the StoKe underpass!! Sad or wot? (DONT ANSWER THAT) Got home in one piece, low fuel AGAIN! :headvswal B****r ill take the Pug Diesel to work tomorro.

Sloppy gearchange
Richard, mine was like that when I bought it. Had to check with Mike at MJP I was shocked, it felt it was gonna fall out. Like Greg says its an easi fix. You might just get away with two little bushes for a couple of quid, I had to buy the top rubber/metal locating bracket also as the rubber and metal bits were divorced. Think that was around £40. (ask Mike) I also bought a quickshift kit off ebay for £40, which I like, but Greg had one and took it out. So horses for courses! BTW SHE WILL KILL YOU when she fnds out!!
