  1. Well on the plus side for the rest of us it is a place where we can be free of your opinions on all things Z32. :lol::lol:
  2. Wot?? A 225 tyre is fine on a 10.5" rim. :innocent:
  3. I just treat it mainly as entertainment. We have a good team of moderators who normally prevent anything getting out of hand FB is even more entertaining as its not usually well regulated.. The UK Z32 pages are hilarious. A debate about tyres or any similr "subjective" topic is only ever going to go round in circles...like this one. Plus??? Wot plugs??? Use can use sink plugs for all I care!:lol::lol:
  4. PS. check out the "Tread wear indicator" number too. The lower the number the higher the wear rate which normally means better grip from a softer compound. My Federal 595Rs things have a 140 indicator....you dont want it quite that low tho for a road car!!
  5. No matter what question you ask it ends up a massive debate. What oil/ What tyres? what spoiler? etc etc. Normally the results are inconclusive. Only you know what funds you have available to buy tyres so buy the best you can with the money available. Look for the highest wet grip rating you can afford. Its just a case of understanding the limitations of whatever you buy and driving accordingly.
  6. Today i moved my new trackday project car to one side of the garage and make a start on curing the little misfire on the blue slicktop. It will just be a case of working thu the key connectors to find some/one that is corroded. CAS plug. looked OK. Cleaned and replaced. PTU. removed the easier of the plugs. Looked fine. Cleaned. Replaced. So far I have done three cylinders. Coil pack connectors were really clean. Injector connectors all showed signs of the dreaded green corrosion. These three have been cleaned with Terminal cleaner. Three more to do...... I have also ordered a set of new NGK plugs. I know the ones in the engine have done very few miles but in the PO advert he mentioned "Denso plugs". Now they may be OK and they may be the correct heat range I dont know yet. They are coming out whatever when the NGKs arrive.
  7. Yes it was. Lampost..side on. Yas was near the old Zedworld yard and had it recovered to there. I helped him collect it and brought it to my place where I helped him strip it. His dad came from Leicester and took everything away except the rolling shell which i had in payment for stripping it. I broke /bought cars to get panels for it
  8. Yeah! Cherry red metallic. the shell was Yaseen's damaged slicktop that I repaired. Maybe I should change that with the DVLA:innocent:
  9. I still have a copy of the magazine. the only bit of that car still with me is the JIB 760 reg. I sold the car many years ago. i think it later was broken for spares. It was a great day out. One of the best I ever had. Bruntingthorpe main straight is scary....as you crest the ridge in the middle!
  10. TBH it drove really nicely. Its many yesrs since I drove a stockish 300ZX Smooth, quiet and effortless..............................Unlike the orange/black one which is harsh, deafeningly noisy and hard work to drive:whistling: Member knightRacer is coming to look as soon as I track down this annoying little misfire
  11. I went for a little test run in my newly taxed spare slicktop. First drive since i got it six years ago!!! Overall Im pleased with it. There is just a tiny misfire under load. So I will be looking at all the usual connectors for a bit of green corrosion.
  12. Thats a shame. I was looking forward to a first taster of track action at Rockingham
  13. Well Im sure ALL the usual posters will be along soon with lots of opinions etc etc. My opinion...your car..your choice. I made my choice when I did mine.................Here is a pic ......as if you didnt know wot it looks like!!!
  14. Yep. Get anything you own outta there:scared:
  15. Thanks for the link Si. I have just bought a set. Bergen is an OK mid range brand IMO. As Im now building an MG ZR they will come in useful:thumbup1:
  16. Min spend £20. Max discount was £75. finished at 6.00PM Brilliant offer. I got 20% of some EBC brake pads n discs from Demon Thieves:thumbup: Unheard of normally for them to give any discount!!!:whistling:
  17. It doesnt look very "abandoned" to me?? Its in a yard surrounded by other vehicles.??
  18. Agreed Andrew is the most informative and helpful member in the club.IMHO The information is always presented in a calm and logical manner without bias and without any alternative agenda.
  19. Hopefully the person responsible will see your post and realise the error in judgement that led to its introduction in the first place.
  20. Clutch pedal "feel/effort" is quite subjective. I run an RPS Street Max TT clutch n fly on a non servo NA set up and its perfect (for me) I dont like the soft feel of the TT servo assisted clutch.
  21. The pedal ratio is different between the two pedals. The NA pedal is designed to be used direct to the master cylinder. The TT pedal is designed to be used with servo assistance. . There are less components in the NA system. It is Pedal. NA master cylinder. fluid pipe and slave. The TT system has a pedal , a servo, a different master cylinder, a vacuum tank and some associated pipes that come off the plenum..and the hydraulic pipe and slave. Both work of course. What you use might well be down to availability or personal choice. As said if you use a TT flywheel n clutch on an NA gearbox casing some machining is needed. Also a shim plate for the starter. The easiest solution is to buy a ready made one. Its not expensive and its readily available. All IMHO of course.
  22. Neither mate but on a need to know basis you need to specify which route you are going with it.
  23. I meant what pedal do you want rather than what car. FYI the pedals and hydraulics are different between the cars.
