  2. Thanks very much chaps :) 24.... its all down hill from here.... I worked most of it.... but thanks all the same Got in on that meisterR groupbuy as a pressie to myself :P Cheers Alex
  3. I'm Hertfordshire (Welwyn) and I would be interested in meeting up at some point :) Unfortunately my Z in condemned to the driveway until I get my GT-Four sold, but i'll be out and about soon enough :) Cheers Alex
  4. Deposit paid :) My pocket is on fire tonight... £850 on flights to Japan, payment for second hand Rota GTR's, a few other Z bits and bobs and now condemned to another £500 odd for coilovers... My bank is going to hate me.. Although my Z is going to love me... *ponders* Bloody hell... put the wallet away Alex.
  5. I cant work out how to edit my post... that was supposed to be Zeta S's (the non fancy set) Alex
  6. Ok, been gawking at this thread for a couple of weeks now.. And after finally getting myself a set of wheels I can officially say, I need lows.... Epic arch gap is not a look I like on anything (apart from my 6" arch gap on my Defender :P) So i'm in for a set of Zeta S's. i'll put deposit down shortly That makes the count what.. 12? Come on people lets get 3 more! :D Cheers Guys Alex
  7. Ouch! What a horrid position to be in.. And sorry for nabbing your replacement Z... I hope you do manage to claim back from the council! So your now keeping it and repairing rather than selling? How much is it looking to cost to get the parts you need? Good luck with it all Alex
  8. I see! Well can't say I remember your brothers being there too :S but fair enough! I'm sure when the weather's a bit brighter and warmer we'll be seeing quite a bit of eachother :) So yours is soon to be converted to manual? What's damaged with yours? Erm, I've not had any issues starting it? The remote start on the alarm doesn't get it every time I guess? It has the speedo sensor issue for definite, the speedo just suddenly does now and again, it has a slight stumble when idling but on my previous Z I just had to set up the TPS start vault age again and that was solved Really can't complain about it Cheers Alex
  9. Ah fantastic, We definitely had a chat once when I saw your silver one, would have been a fair while ago now though. Once my GT-Four is sold and the Insurance is swapped over to the Z I'll have to come up to a meet and have another chat :) Heck maybe even before :) Look forward to seeing you again Alex
  10. Oh and cyberbean, Your brothers isnt a black tt swb is it? Or a silver 2+2? I've been to the royston modified meet a couple of times and saw both there on seperate occasions, it made me a little sad and loath my GT-Four a bit.. Cheers Alex
  11. Hi all Keep meaning to put some snaps up, i'm on my phone at the moment so cant just yet, but i have takem some! I had a good cleaning session with a few mates on the day I picked her up, she was in quite a mucky state so I was worried at what i'd find.. I was shocked to see most of the brown just fall away with initial rinse! After a shampoo, claybar and polish, shock and second polish she's literally a mirror! I am so happy with the buy Literally the best bodywork on a car i've ever owned! There are 2 very small rust bubbles forming (one on passenger door and one on drivers side rear quarter), a scratch on the passenger door handle, but those wont be hard to get sorted, but my only annoyance is the broken rear boot 3rd brake light trim... this is probably going to be a pig to get sorted... Pics to follow later :) Cheers Alex
  12. I do apologise (although not very secretly, very happy with myself) But to have exactly what I was looking for not even 10 miles from my house I just had to snap it up. I'm Welwyn Garden City. is there anyone quite local to me? i've seen a red 2+2 a couple of times in the last couple of months. And i'll pick it up tomorrow, so will give it a wash and get some snaps up soon :) Thanks for the congrats by the way :) I work for EADS Astrium. Cheers Alex
  13. Hi there, Just to say i've jumped back on the 300zx band wagon! I was privilaged enough to own Apache's stunning N/A swb a couple of years ago, but being 21, and on apprentice wage I was unable to keep putting fuel in it! Well now i'm back, a fully fledged aerospace engineer and i've just put a deposit down on another swb, but this time a TT, 70,000 miles (potentially less depending on whether the clock was sent back when converting to mph), brand new mot (with the 2 minor advisories delt with), bodywork is really good, I found no rust at all, not even rear sills or boot lid where water likes to sit. The engine runs smooth and everything works! it's also standard bar a back box and a k&n! I really am happy with it, however as any 22yr old car would it has a few niggles, it has the speedo sensor/powersteering intensity issue, and the seatbelts are sticky, the aux belt squeals when cold, the plastic strip on theboot lid is a bit damaged and finally the paintjob is tired and a few of the window/targa trims need re-coating in black. For the moment i'm not sure what my long term plans are. Do I return it to former glory and have a stunning standard example? or do I forget that, give it a good service and get on with enticing some more horses from the rear wheels? we'll have to see in the coming months :) Cheers, it's nice to be back :) Sky
  14. heya, you've lost me with that last bit groover, what am I doing with a vac line from the aiv??? Cheers Sky
  15. They are used to get cooler air to the cats, thats all i needed so seeing as i have no cats i should just cap them again thats a simple enough remedy if thats the case... now... has anyone ever capped these before? because i certainly havent!! there stainless, so i gues i could just 'cut, fold and weld' Should I cap all 4 open ends? as the other 2 werent before.. ? cheers Sky
  16. Hi all, Sorry i've not posted in a while! As the title suggests, I had a bit of a spin a couple of weeks ago due to a pillock pulling out on me and getting stuck halfway across the road. Luckilly the only battering was from the untouched central wall of snow as I went over it sideways. However ever since it's been blowing and as I hit the 3500rpm range it really does make a racket, sort of a rattly higher pitched noise... Anyway I took it to a friend who got it up on a lift for a quick inspection. We couldnt find anything that was loose the only thing that was bound to be making the noise was what I think is the exhaust recirculation pipes? Perhaps? Drivers side Passenger side As you can see both on each side are totally disconnected. However I am positive that they were this way when I bought the car, I clearly remember sticking my finger down the ones that go upto the engine bay and getting covered in muck... The only thing I can think of is that the 'exhaust side' pipes were possibly capped in some way and i've nocked them off?? I dont know why theyve been disconnected.. Im hoping that some of us on here can fathom a reason? Perhaps they're only required for a turbo'd model for example? Thanks very much, I appreciate any help you can give on the issue. The options/questions I can see are: Should I re-cap? should I connect them up again? is the fact that the ones returning to the engine bay are not capped potentially causing issues elsewhere? (entry of water, dirt and such?) Cheers! Sky
  17. I have the Flux Capacitor, (for all those back to the future fans) you can set it up for a specific destination in time, turn it on and it links with a marker on google maps as you drive over it, it does all the flashy and noisy things and bam, your in a different time. its currently my 21st birthday today I've also set it up to be near the top of the slip road on the A1 junction near me, i almost hit it at 88mph.... not quite got it on a tee yet though... other than that... i regularly use Whatsapp as well as the ping chat my favourite game.. probably the sega style sonic the hedgehog or comand and conquer red alert, or currently drift mania. cheers Sky
  18. just found this thread again, but just to say that i've gotten in touch with the ebay seller boldy and artztogo were on about, just to help anyone in their search for panels his ebay id is littlebird1303, real name steve. I'll be contacting him tomorrow properly to ask for prices and stuff. Cheers Sky
  19. i've had it step out a couple of times unexpectedly, it is a little worrying, I think it would be good experience to purpously put myself in these situations in a controlled environment, because as you say, its good to instinctively know how to deal with an oversteering situation.. When i have a bit of cash, i'll invest in some 'new' old wheels to put on when i fancy giving it a try. cheers Sky
  20. Ok thanks very much! I'll get on it, theres no reason why it should fail next time which is good, however there were 2 advisories on rust which I need to sort out at some point.. :( Thanks very much! Sky
  21. also, while we're on the subject... what did any of the others by the hand break do Apache? the blue one for example? Thanks! Sky
  22. I'm a bit late myself! Thanks very much for that... stupidly as I couldnt tell what any of the buttons did other than the snooper, I have since rewired.... but all the wires are still there so it's just a case of putting them back in.. WHOOPS! Thanks very much for the quick turn around!! I'll get on that tomorrow morning and book it in for it's re-test midweek Cheers Sky
  23. Well, I had the MOT today, it failed on a broken bulb on a side repeater, and the fact that there are no rear fog lights.......? Now, this car has been in the uk for a number of years, so how is it that it has passed in the past..? can you get detachable rear fogs for example? I need to get in touch with Apache.. does anyone have his contact details? Thanks very much Sky
  24. I've contacted them on their prices and stuff, cheers. any more? Thanks very much! Sky
  25. Ok, pretty much its that time of year again, and im in portsmouth until the beginning of November, however my MOT runs out on the 19th.. dilema in the fact I need the car down here, but if it runs out of mot I cant take it back up when my block down here is over, well i'll have 7 days to get the work finished obviously I dont want to get a dodgy mot, but a kind tester that can turn a blind eye at smaller things would be a god send... Im not even sure what it might fail on, just I know that it smells of petrol and im worried about my emissions I guess? Does anyone know of a good test station to go to, im willing to travel a bit to get there. Cheers Sky
